The surface world was blasted and is wracked with mana storms that are annihilating all life. A shrine to forgotten gods that extends into the depths seems like the only safe sanctuary to descend into...

Basic Idea

Endless Roguelike where every buff also comes with a debuff.

Make smart choices and get as far as possible while difficulty increases.

Controls

  • Move using keyboard (WASD or Arrow Keys).
  • Aim and Attack using Mouse (Left Mouse Button)

Awesome soundtrack! The theme was spot on and I loved the debuffs on the weapons. The crossbow was super broken!

I think you could expand on this and make it a full roguelike. The character and enemy sprites didnt really fit the background but can be improved.

Nice job!

Very impressive to have made a game like this during a game jam! Lots of little level features, enemies, traps and items etc, very cool!

Very bold to make this kind of game for a jam, it can be very time consuming ! Good job !

I'm a big fan of ARPGs so this was pretty fun. I wished the levels were a bit more interesting. Enemies with varied behaviours would be nice too. But I understand the difficulty in making something like this within the time limits. Nice take on the theme.

The movement felt a bit weird. By the time I had three items I was completely overwhelmed with debuffs, I think it would have been easier to play without items. One thing I really liked was how the doors locked you in after entering a room.

Nice job. The same litle dungeon looping harder and harder is priceless, it takes only a few loops to have favourite rooms and feel kind of at home (but with monsters)

Fun game! More of a dodge & hit than most games in this format, I like it!
(doesn't make me any better at it, but feels more 'alive')
The plus+neg bonus structure is cool, and the randomized enemies are a good way to prevent level-repeat-fatigue.

For powerups from tomes, I often did not see what it was I exactly picked up though, perhaps show the effects always in the corner?

All in all a nice game, perhaps a bit too hard at times.

This game is so fun! I loved the idea of the buffs/debuffs on the weapons. The traps were pretty cool and the abilities of the monsters were cool.

Very good! Loved the concept of every item having a buff and debuff. Keep up the good work.

Lots of fun to play! The higher resolutions renders the text way too small to read, but otherwise things were fine. Loved the "randomized text" effect when picking up an item. Great mood!

I could see this turning into the kind of game I would sink hours into. Nice interpretation of theme, art style, sountrack and mood!

This is really well done. It reminds me of Starward Rogue quite a bit. I found someone of the debuffs a bit too punishing (blindness in particular) but it was a really good push and pull of mechanics with appropriate audio.

i liked the part where I was the head

I'd have liked to have seen the map change more substantially, but it is a jam game. Decent, I don't think it's actually your best one despite your claims! But it's good.
