Instantly when the category came out, @JustMars had the idea to take the phrase "Running out of space" literally and that is what is happening, you are literally Running out of Space.

Space Runner 2048 is a 2D "platformer", set in space, made by me @JustMars and my friend @raffe.

In Space Runner 2048, your objective is to reach earth. (You will find out how when playing!)

Collect ALL of the Stars, for a nicer ending, you'll see :)

CONTROLS

WASD or ARROW KEYS to move around. You can't jump in space, but when you are somewhere else than space itself, you can press SPACE to jump.

ALL Coding + Animation stuff made by @JustMars

No assets or any kind of already done things was used, we started from scratch.

ALL art and music made by @raffe!

We didn't try to focus on a certain category. We just did all around, and in the end it looks very nice and we are participating in every category.

We appreciate every comment and PLEASE let us know about any bugs, if you'll find some (You probably will lol)

And yeah, the game logo and name might be SLIGHTLY inspired by a movie called Blade Runner 2049. Though, @raffe did draw EVERYTHING by himself. It's kind of funny because me or @raffe didn't even like the movie :D But it inspired us a nice title.

The overall atmosphere of the game was great and enjoyable. The aesthetic was lovely and the audio that was there fit really well. The game was a tad short and I wished it was longer, I feel as though the game's concept would work well as an endless runner.

Cool game really liked the low gravity controls. Physics based objects were cool as well! Music was great too :^). I just wished the game would have been longer :)

Cute little game. :smile: The game is a bit too short. Maybe making it endless by randomly spawning obstacles could make it more interesting? In the parts where it was possible to jump it would have been nice if the gravity was also more heavier, so you could feel the difference better. Now it seemed like I didn't even have to use the jump button in those parts and instead I just floated and pushed the obstacles away.

Nice game, I loved the physics of all the objects! Also like the theme of rubber ducks throughout the game. At first I thought, wow, a soothing little game, and then I met the black hole. The transition for the music at the start could be smoother. Finally won the game after about 5 tries, and I love the soundtrack on Earth the most :) Cute that you can still move the astronaut around there. Overall a nice entry!

Love the cute graphices and the physics. I think the game should be a little more difficult, but well, it's cool to be on the ground with my friend the yellow rubber duck. I think the titles of our games share something!

Yaaaay, that's a nice game!
I was really happy when the rhythm and the music changed, that was a good idea. Everything feels nice and polished. Next step is to make a more ambitious game I guess, because you nailed this one.

Love the floaty feel of the movement, really screams outer space. Music was great too! Art work is simple but cute. I wish the boxes were pixelated, it bugs me a bit because they are higher def and feel out of place. Good job otherwise!!

As a basketball fan and a pixel art lover, I pretty much instantly fell in love with your game, but when the big purple hole appeared and the music started playing it scared the shit out of me! :scream:

Great game, really enjoyed it, awesome job guys! :)

Too bad it was a bit short, I would love to get more of this going!

haha the ducks! It's nice to see pixel art entries in ludum dare. movement really feels like you're in space. the game could be a bit longer but it's ludum dare after all ;) solid entry, good job!

I realy love the music, nice work and the mood of the game was really involved. Sadly some objects had real utilities how ever it's a detail i love this game good job ! PS : this comment had been write by my sister ;-)

I really liked the artstyle. and the music (at least in the beginning) reminded me of space odyssey. i was wondering how the theme was used and then the ominous music started! great job!
