Best score: 810 ( I always like when there is a score system!)

That's a really good first jam entry, the dash attack is my favorite. The level is nice, it makes you want to navigate in it, using all your skills at your disposal. I like the slight screenshakes also.

I would say the downside is (except the graphics but you know it ;P) the physic of the shooting, it would have been good to be able to shoot where your mouse his I believe. It makes it clunky to only be able to shoot in straight lines.

Good entry !

Hey @sagarpatel25700 nice entry!

Okay the characters are just blocks but I really LOVED the physics! There are pretty well made and gave me really fun experience. I like that you have a life bar and that your not dead after one hit. You choose a really catchy soundtrack which helps the game a lot  Didn't had
a single bug in my play time, good job.

Thanks for that

Your entry has simple graphics, but fun goes with physics system, it remainds me good old days with Quake on the lanpary :)

There's definitely a really good core here, even if I'm not a massive fan of how it's been developed.

You definitely *absolutely* should have either changed the shoot key to be a keyboard button, or allowed the mouse to let the player shoot where they want to shoot. Your current system is artificially difficult, as the player doesn't feel that the controls are satisfying. They aren't being tested on their skills as much as their ability to adapt to the awkward controls.

However, I don't actually want to ruin your day because this game does have a good core, as I said. After adjusting the above, I would recommend making the player die on-hit if you're worried about difficulty, give the enemies less health, make the bullets faster and give them a knockback.

If you do that, I think this game would begin to reach its potential.

A good example of gameplay carrying art! The game was really fun to play and satisfying when you killed enemies due to the little explosions and sound effects.

I had trouble getting the dashing down at first, I'd get mixed up on which square I was for a second. ONce I got it down though I started to favor it as my attacking method - it was just more fun!

The Jetpack was fun, the bullet-hell aspect was fun - the whole game was just fun. Nice job!

Graphics are ok, the cubes at least have animation to them which is good. gameplay is alright, would have been better to be able to shoot where ever you want to shoot, since the level has slopes it's difficult to shoot using the you implemented. Other maps or levels would have been great too. Best part by far is the sound, very responsive to what is happening in the game and it's satisfying hearing the stomp sound when jumping on enemies.

Most fun game I played so far! Besides the problem with the controls the others here already mentioned I liked the very fast playstyle.

Your ammo system is very interesting as you can still fight your enemies with dashing if you have no ammo left, but that will deplete your health, so you have to balance between shooting and dashing. It would have maybe been nice to be able to see how much ammo you have left, but on the other side the way you implemented it in your game there is more tention as you never know how much you have left.

Interesting mechanic with balancing the resources (health, ammo and fuel) dropped by enemies. Very clevely done. Fast-paced, can get intense, but still a strategic approach is needed to succeed. Very well done indeed.

Apart from improving the visual presentation, I guess some playtesting would be needed to balance things out for most players, and you have a qute solid and ready game on your hands. Commendable, given all the limitations on Compo, Great job!

Thats a very good action game, really enjoyed it, also very challenging as well, altough i still think you could balance a little more the amount of ammo you have to fight the enemies!
but great job anyway!

Solid mechanics. I particularly like that I feel in control of my avatar. Too many games put slushy physics and whatnot. Good feedback to the player about what's happening in the form of audio, hit flashes, etc.

There is potential on this kind of game, I liked the player feedback you give, the sounds and flashes are good. There are some bugs that discouraged me from playing the way I wanted, I don't like to waste bullets and I was dissapointed that when I picked up ammo it change my bullet count from 10 to 7. The dash attack is not really a good one as I felt more that I hurt myself. I would have liked that if you jumped on an enemy it would be counted as an Attack too as you put an enfasis on vertical movement but you didn't capitalized on it. I think that you could implement holding down the space bar to use the jetpack instead of the left shift it would help on to make the controls a little bit more intuitive and easier.

Overall this is a good base if you want to build on it.

Interesting game. Naturally I forgot to read the instructions and was a bit irritated why you only have 10 bullets, but then I found the other attack. Controls are good for the most part, though the jetpack could need a bit more finetuning. Overall a good entry.

I don't know if its me, but I find in this game some retro vibes that I like.
The gameplay is good and you can build something interesting from this.

Very good first entry! I like the retro look and sounds. The music was pretty good too. I like the "fan" you have in the right lower corner and the dash attack. Good job!

Nice game, I think 90% of the times I died by falling in the pond. :(

The sound effects got annoying after a while, I liked the different enemy types and different ways you could destroy an enemy. Well done!

Had quite a bit of fun with the game. You say that you have no idea about making sounds but the sounds you came up with I find very fitting :) Also the dashing mechanic was fun and I was using it many times, sometimes this almost felt a bit like cheating, maybe have a stamina bar or something similar, if that's not intentional. Another issue I had was when I take damage, my block blinks red and when dashing against a red block, it got really confusing, which of the blocks I controlled. But all in all it was a quite fun, thanks! :)

hey @philstrahl when you dash you reduce some of the health that is the disadvantage of dashing hence i did not put the stamina bar. yeah that is probably confusing but when you dash against red block it instantaneously dies
hey @rpmoura you got a very nice score . yeah that pond kill many times .

Its fun! That water pond was a bit annoying and broke the flow when I fell in (quite often... until i figured out the double jump). Great first compo entry!

A cool little shooter. The controls are simple and fluids, it's easy to understand and to play. Too bad there is only one map, no really connections with the theme. There is a lot of care put in the game system, I wish you will use it to build a cool game with.

This was really fun! I loved the simple graphics, it made me think a multiplayer game like this back on the C64 or Atari would be have been awesome! The controls were responsive, I liked how the bullets were limited and how it turned into a bullet hell game if you didn't beat the other guys up quick enough. Really great first Ludum Dare entry. Look forward to seeing what you have for LD39.

That damn pond!!!

This is excellent. A great little, single-screen shooter. Also: nice work on having a fully functioning menu system in there too - I know from experience that UI stuff can really eat away at your time.

I love it. Simple yet nicely executed. Has a nice retro feel to it, but also somewhat modernized with the mechanics. Would love to maybe see more levels and enemies but honestly, it was great! A co op mode would be super sweet but overall it was great! Congrats!

Good game with quiete a few good mechanics, which fitted together really nice. The Graphics were simple, and the player character could have stand out a little bit more, but that was not too bad. Good job overall.

I really liked this game. The controls felt pretty tight, and despite the artstyle being quite simple, the animations of the blocks and the particle effects of the shots made it quite pleasing. Sound also fits nicely.

I played this on Livestream Today at the request of the Developer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zCqO_O0iIo

Fantastic Character Controller, I'd love to see the design aspect tightened a bit, the shooting mechanic is a bit unclear and having limited ammo and no place to hide versus enemies that don't play by the same rules is a tad frustrating, but the technical implementation is extremely well done. A stand out character controller!

@occultone you could have used Dash power to kill the enemy that is an alternative to kill enemy , yes i agree the design is bad and i will improve that THanks for the feedback

This is pretty awesome mang! Dash killing is far more satisfying than Mighty Number 9! And you only had a couple of days LOL very cool game! The only thing i would say is the theme. I'm actually glad you made it your own instead of a planet based game. After reviewing so many games, these are a breath of fresh air :) Great job!

Pretty cool game. It's fun jumping and dashing around the place. For such a small level there a lot of interesting things going on with the bounce pad and moving platform and such. I feel there are a few dodgy elements though. Your ammo count seems way too low - you can kill maybe one or two enemies before it runs out. You shouldn't take damage when jumping on or dashing into enemies, especially since that's the only wait to fight outside of using your limited bullets. The graphics are very basic, but they work. The sounds and music are nice, though the game music doesn't stop when you quit to the menu.

Good work for your first time jamming. I really like the variety of movement you built into the game - the jetpack and dash, in particular, were really nice to have at my disposal. I dashed around a lot just for the fun of it. I wish ammo wasn't so limited (or regenrated), but I get why you would want to force the character into using the dash attack.
