Greedy Dringus by OmnomGuy

[raw]
made by OmnomGuy for LD 40 (JAM)

Greedy Dringus is a loot-em up platformer. Grab the artifact and get out with as much gold as you can!

This is our first Ludum Dare submission, 2nd ever jam, and 2nd ever completed game! We built our game using UE4. I have an HTML5 version of the game working but, due to hosting size constraints we're unable to host it (Game is just over 500MB). I could get the game down small enough to host but, not in time unfortunately.

Thanks for playing and be sure to tweet us how much gold you make it out with! 5.png 1.png 2.png 3.png

Expected bugs from a game jam game, however they were frustrating and caused me not enjoy the overall experience. Also, personally wasn't a huge fan of the character controller.

pretty fun but the jump horizontal distance felt a bit awkward and the loading times were really long for such a simple game

I like how the little skull focuses the attention on where you want the player to look at. Nice job!

Hey guys, a few things:

- Although it isn't required of you, adding the source-code benefits the community greatly.
- It's a good idea to list the controls for the game in the description so people don't have to guess. I also didn't notice it inside the game.
- Kudos for adding a menu. You would be surprised at how many people don't give you a way to quit the game.
- I actually like how well the controls worked. It didn't feel heavy, or janky. Very smooth guys.
- I enjoyed the art style. It was fun, and charming.
- I sort of struggled to see how it met the theme. I might have missed something, sorry!

The jumping didn't feel right. Maybe too much inertia? I liked the graphics but for a simple game it lagged a little. Anyway, congrats guys!

I did not manage to finish the first level, but the power of the jump is unexpected

Pretty good for your second game.
The character controller could indeed use some improvement. The control scheme, using shift for the dashis a bit awkward. Maybe another button would have been better suited.
But anyways, keep making games folks!
