Instability by RevolutionGT

[raw]
made by RevolutionGT for LD 40 (JAM)

Destroy your enemies before they destroy you. Gather unstable energy to heal, but suffer the consequences. Defeat Spido the Destroyer and save the world!

Power ups: All enemies will give a power up when defeated. Most will let you collect their unstable energy, but some will give you other goodies!

Unstable Energy- Heals some health and gives a stack of Instability. Instability increases the damage of your shots, but also slowly drains your health. Stacks up to 20 times.

Heart- Heals some health and also removes a stack of Instability, but watch out-- too much health will slow your ship down!

Weapon upgrade- Randomly gives you one of two upgrades, rapid fire or spread. Rapid fire will fire at max speed simply by holding down the space bar. Spread will shoot multiple bullets per shot, with more bullets produced the more stacks of Instability you have.

Nice graphics and tight gameplay that was satisfying. Nice.

Fun bullet hell shooter game you have. I am not sure what the powerups are for. Would be nice if mouse 1 can be used for shooting instead of just space. The music is great too.

A good voxel art, gameplay works fine, a good game overall but I didn't see anything really new. It is a basic shoot n' up. And I really recommend implementing an autofire button!
Nice job!

Let us shoot by holding down the space bar. Shoot sound. Amazing game otherwise. Good job

Some novel riffs on a classic format, and a hero ship that's fun to bank in all its voxely glory!

I couldn't find any credits, so I'm not sure if the music was written specifically for the game? If it was, well done, if it wasn't, well chosen!

Thanks @oldshrimpeyes and @traak! I composed the music for this one, was aiming for that nice retro style with modern synths!

Liked the game! The music was fantastic, and the controls were tight! I thought that the bullets could have been bigger and/or a different colour to help them stand out more against the background

Nice game. It did feel a bit sluggish when you ram an enemy and they explode.
Liked the music.

This is a pretty cool game! It was funny when the large, seemingly indestructible ships kept coming up from behind and then chasing me around since they just kind of accumulated over the course of the level, and I soon had quite a few all bunched up while I was doing circles around them trying to get the other enemies. Overall, pretty cool game.![Aah!.PNG](///raw/674/2/z/e618.png)

I liked the graphics and the smooth easy gameplay. There could have been a bit more response to the users actions (For example if you hit an enemy, there could have been an effect or something). All and all a great and solid game :)

I really like the idea of using voxels in such a way to make 3d pixel art. However the shooting was tiring as I had to push the spacebar constantly.
