GERM by jharler

GERM is an old DOOM style FPS where you play as a white blood cell on a mission to destroy all attacking viruses. Standard WASD + mouse controls apply. Hold CTRL to sprint. Avoid touching any viruses as one touch destroys you. Don't let that happen!

Can you get to the end and defeat the super virus?

Hints: Listen carefully around corners. It could save your life. You can sprint to save time, but it can be risky!

Notes: The shot collision detection is slightly buggy. It works 99% of the time, but occasionally a bullet will fly through an enemy. This only happened in my final release build, so I didn't have time to address it before submission.

Made with the following tools: Visual Studio 2013 (using my custom C++ game library), Photoshop CS 5, Blender 2.7, Audacity 2, FL Studio 12, Notepad++.

Thanks for playing and rating/commenting. Constructive criticism is welcome!

What engine did you use to make this? It only says Visual Studio, does that mean it's from scratch? Because if so, that's damn impressive.

It's in C++ using my custom game library.

Unfortunately not. My library has been designed to support multiple platforms, I just haven't gotten that far yet.

Neat virus graphics! I included it in my Ludum Dare 38 compilation [video series](https://youtu.be/MAnaf7kVN4I), if you’d like to take a look :)

So, in my last video, your game had no commentary. I fixed that and included it in [this video](https://youtu.be/1N8pCHp9YZg)!

At first I wasn't really impressed with this game. But after reading that this is a a custom game engine, I actually think you should be pretty impressed with this outcome.
