Last minute entry for Ludum Dare 40, my first time here.

It's party time pal! Get all the drinks you can!

But be careful! there's some dangerous healthy stuff you'll have to avoid.

Use up/down arrow keys to move between bars and catch'em all!

Changelog

0.1.2

  • The "Flaming Moe" easter egg was meant to happen after 1000 points, but I made a typo on the code in the previous version and happened very early.

  • When the Hi Score is 0 it’s no longer displayed in the Game Over screen

0.1.1

  • Sometimes "healthy pickups" were rendered invisible and you could lose without knowing why… well, not anymore! (I think)

I had a hard time understanding why the controls were so difficult at some point and then it hit me. It was all the drinks I was having.. haha! Nice game!

I like the simple concept of the game! Cool artstyle too! I don't understand why I was losing health as i was drinking all and only alcohol. Either way nice game!

nice entry! Really nice mood and feeling! One nitpick: It wouldn't hurt to put some bar sounds(glass jingles, bar conversations etc.). Would make the game sound even more like a bar :) great job!

nice music! probably the best "bar theme" music. It was quite fun to notice that the controls went odd. =)

Simple but well done. The character starting to wobble was a nice touch and the controls getting slower to respond was a good twist on the classic game mechanic.

Great music! I was having some trouble switching lanes, it would get stuck sometimes. Nice, simple jam game.

The final message should be "Congratulations! You have achieved ephaptic cirrhosis!". Nice little game, and a great interpretation of the theme. Great job!

(A fun game with great atmosphere and a clever take on the jam's theme. Maybe I don't drink enough, but I swear those water bottles look just like vodka, I think. Either way, that's some fine pianny music you got there, and I really dig the graphics too! Yup, nothing beats gettin' drunk at the ol' flower shop!)

Realy nice game, only thing to put a finger on is the way the objects just keep sliding out of the screen. Would have been nice with a few updates to the objects movement. Ex. you could make the objects not just slide but be moved by some kind of conveyor belt and you could make them fall to the ground and be broken once they reach the edge. Those two small things would have made the game a small faver.
but all in all very nice job

Thanks! I think I'm going to do a post-LD version. There's many little things I'd like to fix.
The way the objects slide out of the screen bothers me too, but I was running out of time! :(

Ah, reminds me a lot of Tapper, somehow in reverse. Tapper was some of the first games I played, ever. :D

I loved how the player character started wobbling after a few and became really difficult to control! That's like an educational message that wasn't included in tapper :D

At first I was going to report the gradually more sluggish controls as a bug. Then I realised that it's probably a feature. Nice touch!

Clever little game! I was a bit confused as to why avoiding apples lost you hearts since I understood that you're meant to avoid healthy things. The graphics are very charming!

LOL oops I drank water! Your game put a smile on my face, :D You were drunk while working on it? Imagine it.. :D My score 2700 by the way and graphics are cute with drunken movement. It'd be great to have forward and backward keys.
