K-Tar: A Musical Odyssey by Eduardo_Pras

[raw]
made by Eduardo_Pras for LD 40 (JAM)

Welcome to K-Tar. The best Keytarrist in the world has been thrown in the musical dungeon.

He must collect and use the Magical Keys to be able to unlock his DESTINY!

But beware, every key you hold weights you down. The price for being greedy is your mobility.

This is the first step of this game. Many systems still need to be implemented, we will look into it it the following weeks.

A great little game! Loved the feel created by the audio and visuals, really created an enjoyable, unified feel. Definitely a solid groundwork for some fun gameplay if it's explored further, though of course given the time constraints you're very limited on how much you can get done. Fab overall though!

Graphics is great and sound pretty good.I like idea of game, but it is too short. I want more levels with hard puzzles ;)

Oh wow, very surprised with this one. Art is amazing, the theme is cool and the levels are well though. The controlls can feel a bit clunky but I really enjoyed it anyways. Congrats!

Really nice graphics and sfx. Gameplay and controls need slight tweaking (collider sizes and the key menu), feels like this can be a really solid package with continued development and added features.

Good level design, we understand automatically how everything works ! Also, even if the theme is completly respected (fulfilled ? Idk what's the right word ...) the mechanic of the slowness is making lose the fun to the game :/
I love the visual, so Kung Fury ! And your faces in credits are really cute like that ! :3

The art and music are just great, damn!
The core idea is fun, but without any sort of limitation to walk around (time, enemies, etc) it's just backtracking. The levels did not required too much of me, so I guess throwing some puzzles would mix things up too. Overall, solid entry! I hope you continue to work on this prototype, because it has so much potential.

Game felt polished and nice, but I didn't like the large amount of backtracking especially when the character gets stuck on walls or goes too slow even though I only have my inventory 1/4 full. Otherwise clever idea and fun game.

The overall Mood and combination of visuals and audio is quite good. Gameplay wise, it's rather simple, and it felt a bit that you forced the theme in it. Movement is smooth, beside changing directions has some problems sometimes. Also am unable to rotate totally. Sometimes I need to rotate totally back to get another key.

Nonetheless, I enjoyed the couple of minutes I played the game for, and we understand the hard work needed to create something like this! Our team also worked hard to create a game for the jam. You can check it out [here](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/jazzy-beats)! :whale:

Fantastic, bite-sized game. The graphics are spot-on and well executed. Nice animations, nice sound effects, and solid concept. Light on the gameplay side of things, but the rest is so solid I can't really complain! There is an issue with viewing your inventory when you get to the top of the screen, since the (awesome) radial menu follows the character. I hope you keep fleshing this out to add more levels and challenging gameplay, I'd love to see it!

WOW! I loved this one! Really big fan of the graphics, color and overall theme! Plus Keytars rock! I had a bit of trouble understand which key does what but surely had fun when I got it! Good job guys!

Well, the style is really great, graphics, music, all fits together perfectly.

Gameplay-wise it is little short and dull, to say honestly. Would be great to see a real rythm game with this style.
