You Gotta Land Now by jalict

For Ludum Dare 40 I made a game about flying and landing planes.

There are 5 airplanes in the game that needs to land before they run out of fuel.

You have to land the planes on the runways, if they don’t land right they explode!

There are islands, each with their own runway.

You can switch between which airplane you are currently controlling using Q and E (Back and forth). Airplanes are turned using A and D. You land using Space.

I wanted to work much more on it, but University is calling again! If you have any nice suggestion, please let me hear :grinning:

I managed to make the 5 planes land after 5 tries! Love the concept!

I really liked the way the aircraft handled, and it was interesting that the landing was gradual and not instant (also that they wandered slightly sideways when you werent watching them, so you couldnt just point them all towards airfields and then quickly switch between to land them one by one.. as i was trying to.

If you had a bit more time, something as simple as a quick restart button would have been great for retrying :p

Shame you didn't have more time to spend on it, it's cool!

Oh no, that was quite interesting but over really quick.
Except for the limited content, I think the game could potentially be solid with more content. Points for potential and the nice art :)
BTW got 4 out of 5 planes landed, so I'm not quite as good as @simokelo up there

The concept is cool and the game even in this state is difficult but engaging at the same time. Sometime after the jam, try to improve this concept for future projects, good luck for that.

The only downside is that it feels clumsy at start due to 5 planes at the same time, if you create some way to make the player gradually habitable to control multiple planes, then that will be great.

Overall, I feel the game is good.
