Dungeon Boy! by nardandas

You find yourself in a cave, cold and dark. Gold everywhere, but monsters too! The chests have bombs, gold, and potions. You've even have a hazy idea of a flaming sword in your head. What are these barrels everywhere? Full of gold too? Pretty sturdy things, seems like it may take a bomb to open them up. There's a ladder? Looks like it leads to a dungeon... and another ladder. Up into a castle! The monsters seem to get stronger as you go, but the loot grows larger. The monsters get faster as you collect more gold, closing in on you, surrounding you...!
An action RPG, almost a mini Diablo, where there's only one thing you've got to do, collect gold. There's controller support, and I highly recommend playing with one. Only the windows version is tested, sorry!
Controls (Also found in the main menu):
-Move: WASD or Left Stick
-Attack: Left Click or A Button
-Bomb: Right Click or B Button
-Open Chest/Climb Ladder: Space or Y Button
-Zoom: Mouse Wheel or Right Stick
-Start Game: Play button or Y button

I enjoyed my time in this dungeon.
Audio and graphics are amazing considering this was done over a weekend.
Only problem is see in this game is that,
i feel like i don't have a reason to explore the dungeon.
I felt that the lack of visual indiciations of attacks inhibited my enjoyment of the game. I also feel that the lighting coming from beneath the player is a bit out of place.
I appreciate the audio as an indication of interactions.
Well done on all things sound.
Overall good job :)
Nice start.. keep on improving.
The game made me feel like a Pacman who can hurt his foes with a sword. However, after several stabs, I decided to not stop running away, looting everything I see and throwing bombs into a crowd of mobs behind me. It have been fun for about five minutes, but then I started to yawn.
P.S.: Music is amazing! Nice work!
'Twas some simple yet effective use of procedural generation. :)
Check out my game if you would like!

I liked it!
The music was really loud on start and I really would have liked a HP bar for the enemies. Hope you take this game further!
And nice mesh models you made, they look really good. I'm getting some Path of Exile vibe from playing your game, which is good :)
Excellent work!
For short jams, it can be really effective to add a bit of jiggle or rotation to sprites instead of trying to get full mesh or keyframe animations for everything. Just something to think about. Congrats on finishing!
The dungeon crawler genre is almost always about upgrading your stuff, so it would have been nice to see some way to spend you gold.
You have a lot of skill. Congrats on a solid entry!
Really nice looking and sounding game, combat could be improved with more variety and feedback.
It was definitely easy to just sprint across the map, picking up the pieces of gold instead of engaging the enemies. The music was definitely nice, even if quite dramatic for the game!
Better feedback!
Nice work either way! :D
I suggest adding camera shake effects, particles in combat so we can feel the impact.
I loved it, congrats.
