Scavenger by Stefan Richings
Scavenge power cores from an abandoned space station. The more cores you collect, the more power you take from the station and the darker it gets. Couple of space spiders in there for good measure.
First LD (or game jam at all) - definitely went overboard with what I wanted to achieve... more realistic scope next time but good fun all the same!
Premise You are a scavenger, retrieving power cores from an abandoned space station. As you retrieve the cores, you are pulling power directly out of the ship - making it darker and reducing the oxygen levels on the station.
Controls Standard first person controls, WASD to move around, mouse to aim and shoot. Holding the E key will open the Main door back to the airlock and also retrieve the power cores.
Objective Survive the scavenge on the space station, retrieving either 3, 6, 9 or 12 cores (depending on the difficulty you pick). Kill the spiders that are attacking you - you will need to find ammo in order to do this! If you don't you're probably gonna have a bad time.

Also, you probably should credit all assets you used, just to be nice to their creators.
I just had a few bugs after restarting a game. Only two enemies spawned and the core count was not done.
I'll definitely write something up about the assets I used this weekend and credit everyone - will try put something into the game, too.
The mood is definitely there, pretty nice set up, and nice thought on lowering the light level depending on how many cores you get.
One thing that could be nice I think is to have the enemies lay down on the side when they're dead for example. I was pretty confused at first when I saw them standing idle at first, and/or despawning them a bit faster too :)
One other thing, if you stand still on a slope you will glide, I guess it's because you used a rigidbody for the player, you can avoid that easily with a CharacterController if you don't need to play too much with the physics for your character, maybe that'll help for your next jam ;)
* Mouse sensitivity was a little too high for the settings I'm used to.
* Adding a small reticle in the center of the screen would be helpful.
* Holding left shift plays the running animation with the gun but it doesn't actually move the player faster.
* Ammo was a little hard to spot even with the small light coming out of it.
The map was awesome, the atmosphere and lighting really sells the game as a alien-infested space station horror experience.
Thanks for asking, I hope you have fun :D
