Nice concept, quite challenging and I found the game pretty amusing.
But there's this bug that when you die and restart it doesn't work...

I think I would have preferred an actual 'poke' mechanism where the spear moved when you pressed a button, as it felt more like a "hold a stick while things run into it" mechanic - unless I'm doing it wrong?

Had a bug where I guess my player object was knocked off of its axis, and my controls went haywire and I ended up going offscreen and unable to bring myself back into view...? Locking the players axes might have helped, and some sort of camera follow would have been nice (or just restricting the playfield to what is visible)

Nice design on the main character!

I liked the combat mechanic of having to poke the rats with your spear. I also liked the fact that many of the resources used in the game were multi-purpose (health and currency). I did manage to get forced off of the screen by the rats however. The game could also do with a bit of game feel (rats dying animation, player and enemy knockback). Some bespoke UI assets would also have been nice.

It's a fun idea for a little game. Love the simplicity! :)
Seems very easy at first but difficulty increases in a nice ratio.
I like the fact that it's a 3D game but you controll your spear with the mouse, basically moving in 2D in every way.
It still looks a little dull, so maybe add some stuff to the environment to make it pretty, but the music is absolutly awesome and fits the visual theme perfectly.
Two (maybe?) bugs I found:
1. I glitched out of the map when I got pushed out by mice
2. The numbers for energy and multiplyer sometimes get wierd values, like .111111111111.

And I have to say this again: LOVE the music! :D

Hi!
Cool player model and a simple, yet enjoyable idea. Nice addition of leveling up your character between rounds.

Could do with some extra juice from the combat since that is the main focus, when hitting the rats (for example a bleeding effect) or an attack animation. The sounds are great for that but visual feedback goes a long way.

Good entry, thanks for sharing!

Unless I missed how to do it, I think it would be awesome if you could turn the spear your self.

I like the low poly rats model but they are very shiny maybe changing the material a bit will help give them a better feel.

Great concept of distributing money/health and the style of killing mice is really interesting. I liked the game very much, although it was quite simple (i was surprised that such a simple game is really enjoyable) =D

Clever mecanics, nice music and globally a fun game =D

The apprearing mouses could have used a warning where they're about to land, and a excluded spawn zone around the player... I got killed by a falling mouse appearing above my head =( But it's a very good job anyway!

The main character reminds me of the mask from crash bandicoot I love it, by the way, there's a bug that I had, when I died, and clicked start, the game would start but I can't move my character, there's no rats and everything seems frozen, only way to fix (that I know of) is by refreshing the page. Otherwise, cool game!

Right off the gate this made me giggle you get 5 humor stars. The character model, the "UGH!" noises and poking mice with a stick just is so funny to me. There are a few bugs though, once I died and respawned the character was standing still not moving. Also once I left the screen and couldnt come back. I wish there were other types of enemies and weapons. Also I'd suggest adding shadows to the falling mice so you can know where it is going to land because the perspective of the camera doesn't help much in that regard.

lol - That death sound scared me. Funny game though 🔉☠️ Really neat mechanic to defecnd yourself, but think it did not work too weel using a trackpad. A mouse (get it) would havebeen better

This was a cool game! It took me a second to realize that I didn't actually need to click to poke the mice, and just needed them to run into my spear. As others have mentioned; it does appear that restarting is slightly bugged as I couldn't move and no mice appeared. Overall, nice job!

The poke is fun but more feedback on the poking could have gone a long way, like a bit of knockback on the rat or some particles. I also managed to get my character of the screen in the lower right corner after a while. There's no real knowledge of how strong the rats get at the moment, which might also be a small effort but have great rewards. A health bar or so.

This game is sympatic but he need more dynamics.
There is a bug when you die and want to retry, movements are disabled.
Need more polish on UI, and maybe some smooth shading on rats, but you'd respect the main theme.

I managed to kill one.. but I struggled to kill others. If you miss and just run into a rat you basically instantly die because you take many rapid hits / damage.

hey everybody i did a minor update to fix the position bug where you could get out of the screen to never return and the restart bug where you wouldn't be able to play after you restarted, so feel free to give it another chance if you have the time <3, have a nice day =^w^=

Really nice game, I like how you have to move to kill the mice. The graphics are cool but the green grass should be more blurred to focus attention on the player and the mice. Quite a fun game to play. One suggestion: make instructions in the game.

Not bad, but it was hard to know when I was hitting the mice. Maybe make them flash red or animate them somehow to give the player feedback for their actions. I like the lone-spearman tribal theme.

Btw I like your play on the aphorism in the title.
