Faceshifters Vs Tumy by alessandrovigamus

[raw]
made by alessandrovigamus for LD35 (JAM)
Faceshifters Vs Tumy is an easy to learn, hard to master old school platformer game made with UE4.
The commands are very simple: move left, move right, jump.
The menus don't work with the gamepad but the movements do.
We are quite new as a team but we did work a lot and we hope you will like the graphics and the sounds!

The art is good, but I cant say the same about the gameplay. The controls are not responsive. =]

Nice platformer with super hard levels and a really cool art style. For some reason I didn't hear any sounds though. By the way, if you fall off on the tutorial, it doesn't restart you.

Awesome! The platforms were quite creative and the graphics and sound really funny! Jumping felt a little off, but that's all.

I like old school platformer, but I feel stage design of this game is not good. Only SweetMan's stage let me feel I'm playing a game, not game playing me.

Well, I found the graphics pretty funny and found the sound design cool. But you lack stage design and I get stuck and pass through a platform..
Anyway, that's a great idea but I'm sure you can improve it, I feel like you just have to focus a bit on stage design and you'll be awesome!

Nice idea but the levels were not very fun to me. Also the jump felt a little bit stiff.
Good job!

So I read through the comments and nobody seems to be mentioning the ultra-creepy air this game has- all the blocks seem to want to avoid you, with their dejected faces and mucus encrusted eyes, and cry/squeal when you do touch them (and make them wilt).

Is there something deeper to this? Apparently you're a tumor so I guess you're giving the blocks cancer? Combined with the evening backdrop and cheery music, it's pretty unsettling.

Otherwise a neat little platformer, if very hard. Good job on the music, bad job on engine choice- the levels take like a solid 3 seconds to restart which is bad when they're this hard.

The visuals here are amazing, and a little sinister like El Cabaro says - I like them a lot.

The level design is punishing, though - I've never been great at platformers, and this one is just way too tough for me.
