Me : First time ludum dare. First experience and lot of fun time. I started to writte my first code in lua in October to make my frist "hello world" appear. The Challenge this time was to make something that work. There is bug, stuff to fix and i should spend more time in finishing the game, but here is my submition to Ludum dare #40 :)

Haha a the end my blob filled almost the entire screen, then it suddenly exploded in size and died instantly!

Love the music, and that background is suitably disgusting! It's a pity the player sprite was quite simple - something similarly gross like the background that expanded in size would have been great! Overall, nice job, and fits the theme!

Simple but efficient implementation of the theme. What exactly is the goal ? Eating enough to blow up is quite easy to achieve, but I couldn't find a way to maintain balance between survival and keeping a reasonable size.

Hello all and thx for your comments :) to answer @exnihilo there is no precise goal, this was mainly a work on the idea of glutonny and trying to create chain reaction. Some feature which would make game harder or have more challenge arent here and i fully understand your frustration @6smith . Like i sayed in description i'm pretty new and my goal was making something work above all. I spend nearly my whole saturday night in making a working collision system. I know most of pro know how to do it in 5 sec, but i had trouble make hitbox in edge of circle and not in center. For now it's a start and i'm glad to have all your feedback, i apreciate all your compliments and i will take note of what you disliked. This "content" and "goal" problem will be question i will ask to myself for next project i will work on. Thx again for your feedbakc, it's great to have help to improve myself and learn.

Really cool game, not bad for a first try! I like the background a lot, but the player could have a bit more graphics design. The music was really nice, and the take on theme is great. I enjoyed it!

It's very nice looking and winning took some nice logical thinking and planning. Overall a very solid compo entry.

Fun game with nice ideas! When I won the game the curiosity text was very small and I was unable to restart the game?

For some reason moving speed to right or down is twice slower than left or up. Also, I got stuck in this state with the music being disabled (but is was possible to move a bit):

@icxon: I had that same glitch.

Anyway, it's cool to see people using LOVE - It was my favorite framework for a while until I realized I missed static typing.

The art and music are good. Just wish the gameplay was deeper.

Also maybe you know this, but I think the food spawns at the same locations every time. If you want that, good. If not, you need to seed the RNG with the current time at boot.

Great job for a first entry! I myself just submitted an entry for the first time so I enjoy seeing games by other first timers. The music was pretty catchy :) I still have it repeating in my head as I type this lol. As far as the gameplay goes, I had an issue where sometimes I would be moving faster than other times (not related to the size of the dot). Like I would be moving fairly slowly, then I'd eat one more dot and all of a sudden I was going faster until I stopped.

Once again, thanks all for taking time to writte me a feedback. I made since a little update, i wont post it here because ludum dare say to not change game too much and .... well... it's same game but i found a way to make "the more you have the worst it is" more efficient ^_^ About the glitch @icxon and @activated-onion talk about, yes i saw it it's because of game over code, i tried to solve it in my new version. About the RNG, i noticed it's kind of the same rng, i have perhaps to find a seed generator and generate new seed on each game or something like this, dont know ^^ About moving @Chiponkey, i found solution, was in code of mouvement and delta time ^_^ But i will be working on it. I know it's little ugly game, but it's my project and frist one, thx for all your feedback !!! It really motivate me to do more and offer you alter more interesting game (and i hope with better graphixs ^_^ )

I must say I was sold on the title cover alone, and liked the concept behind the game as well. I think maybe music could be a bit more on the haunting ambient side? But this might be just my expectations speaking.

I also had a bug when I got stuck in the top-left corner. I got it when I continued to move after a game over, hope it helps!
