Kingdom Manager by HopFrog

[raw]
made by HopFrog for LD 41 (JAM)

A mix between Resource Management, City Builder and Tower Defense.

Assign workers to buildings to gain income on several resources and prepare your defenses!

I used sprites from my game Forager since I ran out of time, whoops!

Super fun! Really amazing job especially in such a short time. It's definitely my kind of game, and even though it was a little slow at first as I figured things out, it hit a stride as the enemy approached and the timer was closing in on 0. Problematically I built an Iron Shield thing at that point and it broke the game, ha ha. Oops. Well, I am going to go play a second time and NOT do that, but I wanted to leave a note and say great work! I don't know if you plan to turn this into a full game or anything, but if you do let me know because I'd definitely play it. (Twitter @WeekendPanda if you do!)

I'm a huge fan of your "jam games", I enjoyed both of them!

Seconding the other comment. Urbanization, instead of adding housing capacity +3 to each settlement and house instead sets the amount of residents able to be housed in each building to 3.

Really amazing!
Obviously, I might be a little biased since base building/managing resources is one of my favourites genres, but anyone can't deny that it's perfectly executed.

Really enjoyed the game, expecting nothing less as I've been following forager for some time. I feel like some background music or ambiance would improve the game a lot and like I let you know on twitter i broke it :P

Cool game and I love the genres (I combined the same ones ;), but your execution is a bit different). I like the graphics. But the transition between water and land maybe could have been better.

Wow this game was fun and complex. How did you implement so many features in so few time? Sadly i had a bug so that after the 15 minutes no enemies spawned...

This is awesome! Amazing how much game you got into so few assets and such. Great core concept. Would love to see this developed.

I bought urbanization and was brought to ruin. This teaches me the lesson: do not stray from the old ways. They are the best ways.

Fine game, very pretty, great concept. I hope you keep working on it, would love to see your ideas for magic and combat.

This game deserves a lot more votes than this. Really fun and addictive game. I'm actually glad the attacking system doesn't work cuz I just wanted to see the city grow. Really impressed with the game design in terms of resources and contention.
