The graphics are quite reminiscent of a few old school arcade titles, namely Galaca and its ilk. Some sound effects would have sealed the deal for me presentationwise.

The lack of challenge disturbs me the most. It is a cake walk from the beginning to the end and once you know the password speedrunning it is just a matter of seconds. A randomised password with properly challenging enemies would elevate the experience to a whole new level.

Small tweaks is all it takes, it's a fine start. Have some :star::bug::bee::beetle:

thanks for trying out the game,
and sharing your opinion. after giving it a small thought once more, you're correct. it can be very easy once you know how to get around and learn the password.
glad it was at least enjoyable, even by a small amount.

i will definitely keep your suggestions in mind.

Digging the graphics a lot. I agree it was somewhat easy, although thanks to that I could stop and apreciate the art a little more, so that's nice.

Great art! I love the space world you created. It could be a bit longer and more challenging but I struggled once as there were too many mobs :D
Movement and shooting is really smooth I love it, it's like floating in water, great job here.
And thank you for reviewing my game!

Quite liked the visuals as well.
Also collecting keywords and typing them in at the end is a nice oldschooly thing to do.
For this type of twin stick I'd like the screen to be zoomed out some more so I have a chance to dodge the enemies bullets.

i cant figure out the password, idk if i was dumb or something jejeje, But anyways here are my thoughts: nice graphics, some sound effects and BG music would give it a lot, some UI for health was necessary i think i was inmune of enemy shots for a moment! Great Entry!

It was a fun little five-minute quest, though I agree with the others that it was a little too easy. Even when I was swarmed and taking a ton of hits, it seemed like my health was barely going down. Good job on the pixel graphics and pixel explosions.

Nice password! I probably should have guessed at that!

Granted it's a little easy but that could easily be fixed. You've certainly got the mechanics of a playable game. Am I right in thinking there is no audio? You might want to opt out of that category.

It's a tiny but cute game!~ Kinda easy though (but consider of Version 0.003 that it is). Looking forward to more content in the future!

thanks for your kind comments everyone, i guess i really should rise up the bar of difficulty in this one.
and yes, there is actually no audio, i had to cut that out, so i can make it in time.
and i guess with some rework on difficulty, and few extra levels, it can turn into a fun ride.

I don't really know how and why the password started showing up but it did. And the password was a bit too easy because I actually guessed it the first time without killing any bugs. Maybe have the password change so that you can play it more or make it more of a mystery. And even though I took a lot of hits I didn't seem to take that much damage. Some sounds would have been a definitive bonus for the mood and fun of the game.

Great work. A few things that would have made this game feel really great:

- Zooming out a little bit so that I can see more enemies and bullets
- feedback on player input and events, i.e sound effects or screenshake would have made this game much crunchier.

That said, I think it's a very solid twin stick. The two minibosses/bugs were a little too easy to kill in my opinion. Their attacks came out pretty slowly, and I had a more difficult time with the basic enemies in the stage, but I really like the overall chaos that the basic enemies create. The art style was also very well done. It felt very retro. The most important thing about art is that it's focused, and this was definitely very focused in on the old-school space invaders type graphics.

Nice job!

Great work a bit easy though, the password thing was a really bad design imho. I don't think the game needs a password to be finished especially when the password is a ludum dare theme, it would had been much more fun if it would had been a boss fight or something like that. Other than that I really like how you mixed a 2D world in 3D graphics, the art is unique and I really like it! Good submission

thanks for your feed back guys,
i guess i really should increase the difficulty of the game.
i will be keeping these issues in mind, and hopefully learn from them for my next tries.
thanks for your kind words and criticism guys.

The graphics and effects are great, and it looks good that one can sense it's actually 3D when something occationally turns or an object displays it outright. I think the camera was zoomed too far in, it was impossible to die, and the movement speed felt very slow compared to all the projectiles.

Nice job mixing 2d and 3d together in a way that really works. The player movement felt good but the weapons fire felt a little stiff and slow to control at times. Great work!

I understood what I had to do I couldn't figure out how to do it. I kept picking up "<>" but nothing happened and I just kept following the arrow. I like the base idea a lot and the art style and color palette is good. I like the enemy ship design. Might be worth some time to polish and improve. :)

Interesting idea, though it would probably make more sense with a randomised password. The visual style is quite cool, and both the player and the enemies look good. It can be fun shooting enemies, but it feels like you move a bit slow and a visible heath bar is needed. Some sound effects would also be nice.

I love the 2.5D look you hand in this. However its sorely missing music and sound effects. I'd also prefer a hold to shoot option as well. I pretty nice take on a geometry wars game.

Simple little game but it gets the job done! :D

I think it was a bit unbalanced, like too many enemies, too much life or maybe the enemies damaging not enough, in the end there was not too much challenge, I could focus only on the bugs having the password without taking care too much of the other ones and still completing the games.

And some more feedback when shooting or an enemy dying (screenshake for example <3) would be nice, but still the particles when hitting an enemy were cool! For this kind of things there is a talk made by JW (half of Vlambeer) that is really great, here is link if you feel like watching it :) https://youtu.be/AJdEqssNZ-U
