RUN JUMP TYPE by ppNovAqq

Untitled.png

My first Ludum Dare. After hyping myself up to do one for a couple years now, I just did the thing.

Used Unity and Aseprite, couple of random sound effect things for sounds.

First time getting anything close to a game from start to finish.

Overall a very good experience on a busy weekend.

really cool idea! i like the idea of hidden things you can do with words, or typing them differently (ie caps) having a stronger / different effect

Very cool idea. Like @niksg I really liked the discovery aspect.

There was at least one "blind jump", which was scary... and then the next spot I thought was going to be a blind jump just killed me :/

Checkpoints would be nice, too. The pace is pretty slow, so sending me back to the start felt really punishing.

Thanks for the game!

Well done! Not only did you combine two genres, you explored the fusion in depth!

The jumps into nothingness were really scary, couldn't beat the boss, not sure what I was supposed to do, I type too slot to try doing jump and hit.

If i could type quicker, I might have actually achieved something XD
A good twist on typing games.

At first I was like, "okay cool concept" but then I died and was like, "damn this is getting hard". I was quickly entranced and determined to get past some of the difficult spots

Trying to turn around and quickly type out the command "JUMP" was panic inducing and I loved it! If only I didn't type so slow, I might have gotten further :p

Really nice game, well done. I like how responsive it is ! Perhaps a more difficult game mode would be one where pressing enter erases the command box ;). Great stuff !

Funny game ^^ It lacks music. But the concept is cool, even if I think someone make the same kind of game, which is the first time I see it for this edition ^^' But that is interesting though, do not worry ^^

Cool overall game, keep coding :)

Fun game, but dying is really taxing because there are no checkpoints. :(

Great idea. I never would have thought to make a game like that. Very hard but fun! I tried many times but did't make far.

Interesting concept, could be extended as a typing practice game with more commands and having to type the command fully each time. Good fun to playing it.

Great game ! I love typing game, and your game add an interesting take on the genre. I really tried to go fast and jump with the good without stopping but it's way harder than it look !
The graphics are simple and the controls are a bit unresponsive, but I still enjoyed your game a lot, good job !

didnt make it through all the content looks like... no checkpoints really sucks. had fun with what I got to see though. well done. would be nice if hitting backspace cleared the whole bar instead of just one letter. I'd start typing jump and then see an enemy or maybe i'd need to type JUMP and then id fall

Oh my god, I've basically made the same kind of game as you lol
Great minds think alike?
Anyway, I liked how I did not have to repeatedly write commands, also vertically layered level felt great too

Very cool! I've seen other games where typing was the means of controlling and I feel this one is the one that best executes it so far! :) The mechanic really works, it's challenging, it's fun. Really nice job!

very cool idea. I liked as mentioned earlier that CAPS had a different output. It was a bit tricky to see the words, blue text on black bg is rarely a good choice :-). but overall good job!
