It's a lil hard. In general I like the game.

I also found it pretty hard, but got the hang of it a bit eventually. I stopped playing because when I died on level 6 it just sat there with "Mission Failure" on the screen and I couldn't get back to the menu.

Fun concept! I like the idea of shooting mines in certain locations before enemies spawn, neat game!

Very clever way of using the theme, nice entry

Good difficulty, and an elegant use of the theme! Every time I died it was my own damn fault.

I would suggest adding a notification for when/where the enemies spawn.

@anon We were actually planning to do just that but it didn't make it! Actually if we did that then you could just throw tons of mines there and then instantly win the level. I'm planning on giving them some temp invulnerability. Thanks for the suggestion though and I'm glad you had fun!

Nice game! I really liked how the mines didn't activate immediately. I had to think about where I shot them when being chased. I think that the game would benefit from showing where enemies will spawn. I died several times from an enemy spawning right beside me.

Not bad, though as everyone else said, it's quite hard. I'd like there to be more animations, but I already enjoyed what I saw.

Surrounded myself with mines, the utlimate defense!
Very hard but I like it, had fun playing it!
The mines bouncing direction could have been polished abit more though!
Great job.

I like the simplistic graphic, its easy to see everything. The control is a little clunky, and the ball bounces in unexpected way, did you use physics engine? Overall great effort.

Really nice challenging game, it's too bad that sometimes enemies prefer to go around in circles rather than come and destroy me :)

That's a pretty cool take on Tower Defense genre. I don't think i ever seen 'curling' as main mechanic in action game. It requires a lot of skill to complete all levels although it player has to try new map few times just to see where enemy spawnpoints are which feels slightly unfair. Graphics are pretty neat and consistent. In overall pretty fun, innovative game, good job!

Having a tutorial was a great idea. Something about it, I can't quite put my finger on it made the game feel a lot harder than I expected it to. Might be the delay between when a mine is shot and when it becomes active

Well done in any case!

Very cool game. A little hard if the level has no enough area to avoid monsters. More like a puzzle game.

The pathfinding seems a little problem, but I'm not sure because this like a strategy: You can't just set the mines and wait in a same place, you should move to attract the monsters.

Generally I don't care to play twinstick shooters because they tend to always be the same. You on the other hand have actually made one where I have to think about what my move will be instead of just pointing and clicking. I think this is awesome so I commend you on the innovation. The game is nice and challenging, and more than anything I actually appreciate that you allowed full level select right on the main menu since LD reviewers have a huge queue of games to play. Fantastic work!

This was a really great way to interpret the theme! The mechanics are immediately intuitive, while still leaving room for mastery. Not having the ability to bounce the mines of the angled corners was a little frustrating. After suggesting that you can bounce them off walls it was a shame when they just reversed direction. An indication of how many rounds are left would be a welcomed addition. Timing the launch of a mine with the right amount of force to land right under and enemies feet was incredibly satisfying!

Really cool twist on the top down shooters, but I found it really hard. One downfall of the game in my opinion were the wall physics. The player would completely stop moving even if the wall is at an angle, and the mines bounced back, and not in the way you would expect (you might want to look up reflection vectors). Apart from that, the game looked and felt really great and the sound was really satisfying too.

I wish the physics were a bit better regarding walls, I felt like I got stuck a lot, and mines bounce of walls in weird ways. Nice game overall, though!

Your game Mine Games is a really cool idea and really puts the theme of “The more you have, the worse it is”, into a really cool game. I enjoyed the game a lot and the idea of having to strategically place mines before the round is really cool.

Pros:

The Idea of the game was really fun and interesting.
The sound effects were really nice.
While difficult, it was really fun.

Cons:

The physics of the game was a bit weird as at times they bounced in weird directions.
At times the enemies spawned straight on top of me and therefore didn't even give me a chance to survive

Overall this was a really nice game and you should be proud of what you achieved. :)

Kept hitting myself with my own bombs. lol

but seriously, was really annoying when enemies appeared an inch away from me with no warning

Wow, great mechanic and interpretation on the theme!

I had genuine fun playing this, it was my kind of hard and I found like I was challenged to place and blow up my mines carefully

One thing I would add would be a few (not too many) pickups - maybe a shield to block one of the AI'S hits, maybe a couple of extra mine guns (3 mine, two mine etc) dropped on enemy kills? (pst survival mode)

A mission progress bar would be great too

Sometimes the AI at times glitches out and sticks to itself instead of coming directly to me, that needs a tweak

I felt like a mine boss playing so thanks!

In general, I enjoyed playing this, but the difficulty was a little frustrating, which ended up being the reason why I stopped playing. I liked the graphics and the usage of theme; nice job!

Great game! I love that you have different maps to play the waves on. I would rename "levels" to "maps" since you don't advance the to new levels.
In the tutorial if you die (yes I died) it takes you to a new map which was weird.
Most of the time I die because the walls are 'sticky' and you can get stuck on them. It might be nice to allow the player to still move / slide along them.

Keep working on it!

Nice work!

All in the game its well done, graphics, collisions, controls, gameplay, UI, i really like it, a bit hard at start, but when get used to the controls it turns better, the classic, Easy to learn, hard to master. That's not the problem, the only think I don't like are the rounds per level, with 1 or max 2 rounds, it will turns less repetitive and more fun imo.

Woah, very nice!

I really liked the gameplay mechanics and would LOVE to play a multiplayer version of this, also, remembers me a little of bomber man :D

Would be nice to have spawn indicators and music, good job!

This felt good and had a solid selection of levels which was nice. I wish there was a bit of variety in the colors between levels but that's a nit pick. Really enjoyed this one. Great job.
