Inperito(); by Daneeh
''Inperito();''?
Command and order in Latin. You're guided through the levels using a new movement mechanic. Move as you command your character to go around the levels.
About the game (and us) This game is a 2D platformer, it's our first game made, ever. Our planning was a bit off and we both had to learn new things. However, the reason we participated is so we could get some constructive feedback and some development experience. So, here we are!
Glowi Games ''proudly'' presents Inperito();
There are some known bugs (such as sticking to the side of a wall), some missing elements here and there (we would've preferred a more extensive main menu and events for the dialogue) and we didn't have the time to implement the soundtrack (songs made by ourselves). We would still like you to point things out to us, since we are planning on continuing development for the game. The soundtrack/effects is still available for download.
Thanks for sticking around, we hope you enjoy the (concept) of the game as much as we enjoyed making it! :)

---Bugs patched--- -text formatting in the second stage. -killzone moved downwards so the player doesn't reset every time he touches the second or third platform in the second stage.

**But overall very nice little game!** :grinning:
@hugmugi7 Thanks! We tried our hardest haha, the tutorial will be fixed as @daneeh said
@viperfish9 Appreciate the feedback! We still have to add event triggers for the text.
@nia Your praising words make us happy haha, thanks a lot!
If you all are interested we are planning on finishing the game, so stick around on the itch.io page for updates!
I played on a windowed screen though, and I couldn't exit the game through traditional means, so that's something to take in consideration.
Well, that's pretty much it. I'm not exactly the ideal person to leave you a meaningful response, but a game like this is well worth a look or two. After all, the pixel art is very cute. In behalf of our team, we hope that you can show us something as good, if not better, on future jams! See ya! :whale:
I can see this being pretty solid with a bit more time though, good job.
Future updates (post Ludum Dare) will include menus and such, as we're planning on fully fleshing out and polishing this game and adding many new levels. If you're interested, you can follow us on glowigames.itch.io for updates!
Also, we do plan on participating in the next Ludum Dare jam(s), and I saw in the comments below your LD40 submission that your team Whales and Games is quite well known on this site, so we'll probably meet again next time! See ya!
Your issue with keypresses not registering might be due to too many keys being pressed at once. My laptop keyboard, for instance, can only register 3 simultaneous keypresses. I don't really know a fix for this, so the only option is to type a bit more slowly if this is indeed the case. :/
You're right about the music. Sadly we did not have enough time to implement it, but that will be coming in a post-LD update on glowigames.itch.io/inperito as well as fixed text cues, and a whole bunch of fun stuff. We're going all the way with this project, and we'll see where it gets us! If you're interested you can follow us on itch.io, and we'll definitely be around for the LD41 jam!
Also, you will remember the commands better if you play the game more :wink:
Needs some polish, but it's good as it is
Anyway great job for a first game, you can be proud of yourselves. :)
@logicon211 Sadly despite the amount of time put into the music, it wasn't implemented on time :( Either way, thanksfor the feedback!
@arkthalos Thanks for the heads-up! We're gonna keep working on it as @daneeh said!
@versatile-box Yup, we're gonna polish it after the LD voting! Thanks!
The application “Inperito_LD40_final_mac” can’t be openend
@wakka2 I don't own a mac and don't know how to fix this problem, but I added a webGL build so you can play the game in your browser!
In every other aspect it was a nice experience!
The concept is great, and the game plays really nice. Its a great game! Good job
