%usergosh% bless you by SomeAnotherGuy

You are the Gosh. Like a god, not as mighty.

Your goal is to capture all regions/temple-cities on the map, while keeping manna (aka currency) above zero.

There is no direct control in the game, you only support your followers and convert heretics via miracles, be it blessing that will convert heretics to your faith, or devious curse that will reap it's toll on all living things in region.

Tutorial: Main thing you'll interact with are regions/temple-cities. Click on them:) LD44_tut1.png They can be in three states: Marked by yellow swirly stuff - yours. Marked by brutal warrior - controlled by heretics and non-believers. Marked by lock - isolated from you. They are ignoring you.

Faith is how much people believe in you in this region. Keep it high! Yellow population is loyal to you. Red are heretics and non-believers. They are converted over time, but you can help;)

Try to keep manna high, it's your currency and life. See how long it takes you to conquer everything:) LD44_tut2.png Blood must flow! Your followers will make sacrifices in your name, that will replenish your manna - both your currency to spend on spells, and your source of life. Run out of it - and you're as good as dead.

Regions are connected via routes marked by green doted lines. LD44_tut3.png Those roads are only way people go around this land. There are two main types of movements - attacks and patrols. Brutal warriors depict attacks, while praying people (that is what is drawn on those small things) are patrols. Patrols go from friendly regions to friendly region, but can participate in battles for regions, should need arise. Brutal warriors kill most people, but also convert some.

Hope you'll have fun playing the game, just as we enjoyed making it. Heck, we're even proud we accomplished so much :)

@theitcrow thanks for feedback! To interact with the game you need to click on regions/temples, there are 6 of them in the game. Popup will appear and you can either bless it, or curse it, depending on whether you have enough mana points or status of this region. And your goal is to capture all 6 of regions.
Hope this helps :)

Ok. Game background looks great!

But game is so confusing. Tample bars are in wrong place and I don't really know which one belongs where.
Also It's hard to get how capturing tamples mechanics works.

You should playtest your game and get more feedback!

First I was lost in the game too. Then I have read your tutorial and everything became clear.
I really like the graphics!

This game really needs a tutorial. It is quite complicated and I still don't really know what I'm doing. like the graphics, but would've liked some audio as well.
please vote my game too: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/soul-checkout

Lovely artstyle and music! The gameplay is not that intuitive, so some sort of tutorial would help a lot :D

The music is great!! The artsyle is AMAZING, oh god the background intro is stunning! But I got a bit confused with the game, not sure what I was supposed to do? After I read the tutorial it became a bit clear, but still was unsure about what to do.

Great art and great music help create the right mood, but as others have said it's not very clear what I had to do. Even after reading the description on the game's page I had troubles understanding what I was supposed to do.
Still nice idea, would love to try it again with a tutorial or some QoL improvements.

@jestemstefan @elsper @pepijn @akros @starlet @squaredev thanks for your reviews! You are totally right, there is a problem with conveying information more clearly, especially with movements, we just lacked experience/time to get right. We will do better next time, I hope :)
And yeah, best we had time for is tutorial here, and we were exhausted when writing it. We did just as everyone else - left it to be last thing we work on :)
