Tabletop Farm Simulator 20,000 by jcsirron

apocalypse.png You are bitcoin millionaire Bill O. Henry. Having made your fortune, you've decided to retire to the country. Still, being the naturally competitive sort, you want to make the biggest, best farm in the neighborhood.

To have a plot of land produce, it just takes time and water. You can use canals to bring water from the river, or dig some wells. Those wells need power for their pumps, though. You can get power from the central line, or spring for some solar cells.

If you run into any problems, I'm sure it will be just like the old days in Silicon Valley: click on stuff, and see what happens.

Hard to rate, I don't get it. My best is 6 but I don't know why is the end. The rats is a mystery for me :p

I'm confused. I like the idea and the setup required, but I honestly don't understand what the lose condition is. I seem to be doing fine, and then suddenly I just...lose. My last run I had a bunch of farms, lots of water, lots of supply, no visible threats, and then the game over screen happened. I like the premise, but I'm not convinced the rules are explained well enough.

I love the idea of different game modes, but it seems that none of them quite worked. It seems maybe overambitious. Killing varmints seemed to have no purpose and when I ran out of bullets I couldn't do anything else. Not even go back to the farm.

I have no idea why my land caught fire or what I could do about it... wait... clicking fire puts it out... huh. I'm still not sure what causes it.

One of the biggest problems is that it's impossible to tell where to place things so they'll interact with the other things. If it was on a grid, or it drew a circle of influence I would be able to tell, but I didn't seem to be able to get things to interact easily. Things have to be sooo close to each other to interact, such as placing irrigation near the river. And you can't place them if they're too close. The range of places you can put them are too narrow and hard to find. I often thought that things didn't work, such as irrigation and power lines.

In one try I did manage to harvest some fields. I like the idea. With a little more polish I think it could be pretty fun.

Kinda confusing, but pretty impressive that you tried to build a full simulator like this.
