F.I.S.T.S (FIRST PERSON IDLE CLICKER SHOOTER HORROR TOWER DEFENCE SURVIVAL) by dimaswift

[raw]
made by dimaswift for LD 41 (COMPO)

ezgif.com-optimize (2).gif

The title says it all!

No need to aim, just chill and watch the hero kill the zombies. Only need to reload, (unless you unlock auto-reloading perk).

Farm gold, unlock abilities, buy weapon upgrades and grind endless waves of zombies without breaking a sweat. Classic idle clicker (not so much clicking) combined with the first-person shooter, tower-defense (you are the only tower) and some RPG elements. Hope you enjoy it

UPDATE 1.1

  • Fixed bug when the player would stop aiming after wave 20+;
  • Reduced bloom effect;
  • Made some minor tweaks;
  • Progress is saving and game works in background now;

Controls:

Software used:

  • Unity 2017.3.1f

This... was really addicting. You definetly should make it into a full game and release it. I played it till wave 33, then got bored.

Cool game! Very original and well executed! I really like the graphics, although the bloom is somewhat on the extreme side. Anyway, I really enjoyed playing this game. Great job! :)

Wow! This is an incredibly polished entry. I concur with @Tutti Ankka that this should be turned into a full game. I finally had to make myself stop playing. My only points of criticism are 1) the "get coin" chime becomes annoying after 20 some waves and 2) it's not obvious (at least in the early game) that the action stops when you go into the upgrades. Perhaps having the upgrade window not take the full screen so the player can see the action has stopped in the background would help.

I really am super impressed that you were able to get this level of polish alongside all the mechanics in just 48 hours. That's something to be proud of. You've got a winner here.

Very nice game, addicting as hell =) Beautiful graphics, as always. Thanksfully the wave 33 never loaded and left me waiting, I would probably have otherwise spent much more time doing... well... nothing x)

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

@jharler you are right, it makes sense not to stop the game while in the shop. Why haven't I thought of that.. Thanks for playing, glad you liked it!

@colisan haha, I've never made it past wave 5 when I was testing, takes so much time. Glad you liked it and it didn't take too much of your time since it lagged on wave 33,lol

@thomz12 yeah, the bloom might be too much sometimes. I'm always tempered to add more for some reason...

Nicely realized concept! I found myself really wanting to quit, but unable to, like many other addictive activities.

The game looks like it used assets form the asset store. In that case, this game has broken the rules.
EDIT: NVM, looks like you used some voxel tech

This game is a really great example of game feel done right, which is especially important since you are making an idle game. The only complaint I have is the aiming system most likely targets the closest enemy, so it does not target the enemy about to come towards you. Also the aiming system kind of broke a little at wave 30(do not ask how long I played). All in all good game.

This is a really, really good concept - and it's impressive as to how much you've done in a single game jam. Everything feels extremely polished, and I found myself getting decently addicted all the way to wave 29. However, even though I wanted to play more, I managed to bug it out by opening the shop as soon as the zombies spawned (so I heard the zombies spawning in the shop menu) and freezing them. Now they don't move and I can't progress.

Consider changing the frequency of the sounds by %10 up or down randomly at every click. Otherwise it sounds very very repettitive.

I think it was fun to watch but I wish there was more clicking in my idle game.

I played on mac windowed at 1280x1024 and works smoothly. Man this is the most polished game I have seen so far on LD41 I love the shader work (in fact I am about to dig into your source to learn how it was done :)). Well done.

This is exquisite. For something so classically violent, it gets almost meditative after a while. The progression is well-designed - gets a little easy after a while with the right upgrades, but that's satisfying in itself. The graphics are great and the sound effects are satisfying; could use music, but it works without. One of the best games I've played from this jam. Fantastic job.

Nice MagicaVoxel modeling. Game is fun to play - so many genres in one. Love it.

Definitely the game I've played the longest in the entire Jam. At first I had some problems in some rounds, and zombies kept really close. Then I found out there's more than just the "Gun" menu. Gosh what a discovery, grenades, health, I just overpowered myself and the game was way easier from then on. Thanks for the auto-reload feature, a lot! But zombies started to keep improving too... although not that much. Grenades are way too powerful and cheap :D

Eventually the game froze at some point :( There was a zombie left which simply stopped moving and I couldn't shoot it either. Grenades couldn't hit it, so I guess that was the endgame for me. Let's call it the Super Zombie xD

About the game itself: incredibly great and enjoyable. Graphics are really cool, minecraftesque, but it has too much bloom. Heck, I've just been under eye surgery a week ago and have flares but this was definitely not the case ! xD. Sound is good and feedback and bullet/gun animation is great. Excellent work with the upgrades and the difficulty curve (except grenades, at least up until I played)

EDIT: Sorry, I just played the original version without further reading, so you may ignore the bloom and the round 33 problem :)

This game is really addictive - I've played until wave 61 without noticing the elapsed time since I launched the game !

I could play this game more time than you developed it :grin:

Until now my prefered compo !!

Not much of a clicker and more of a QTE game for a short while. I wish there were 'more of a game' since it looks so good and the upgrades/perks are pretty damn cool. But it was pretty nice to just alt-tab out and then return, upgrade and watch the carnage for a while.

BTW. the player can't seemingly die, dunno if that's by design or not.
