You hate trash and bacteria. And well, your home area got corrupted... It's time for a big clean out, tho it's not so easy to navigate in it, as it was before. Explore 31 level, jump on pads, ignore physic rules, and just have fun

Absolutely floored by the visuals and overall polish of this game - felt like a true nostalgic gameboy style game.

My friend and I have made a game for LD42 as well, check it out.

The controls feel responsive and the music sounds like the voice of a chiptune God. This reminds me of the old time of flash games. It is a really well designed hand crafted artifact. Keep up the good work.

Nicely done ! This is a really good platformer/puzzle game with cool graphics and music.

The screen shake is a little bit over the top though, and the difficulty is a little bit random. Deaths can also be very frustrating.

Great submission overall !

Great work, Loved the sprites, Graphics AND MUSIC. I am a little confused about the difference between change gravity and toggle gravity, other than that top marks. Well done! Keep it up!

Simple idea well developped, cute and clear artworks, nice music. Really nice! Love the way the game teaches you it's little mechanics through inteligent level design. also lovely to see some pico getting use :3

Quite fun and well polished, though the relation to the theme is kind of tenuous. I feel more like im running out of time with the the regrowing blocks, which makes it feel more like a speedgame, which I like.

Very fun for a the first 10 or so levels but it got samey very fast. Not sure how it connects to the theme though.

Hey Egor! Great job on your entry yet again! I'll admit I'm not entirely sure how it fits the theme, it was fun to play, and had a unique mechanic. (I also love that the timelapse starts with you drawing a spaceship) On a side note, as you got farther in the game, the corruption regenerating itself got kinda annoying, but I was usually able to keep up with it. Either way, congratulations on a successful LD!

I think I agree with everyone. Not sure how it fits the theme, but this is the best most polished game I have played yet.

great job on this game, loved everything about it except for the screenshake, it's a bit too much, especially when dying/restarting a bunch of times, other then that 5*, please consider a full game out of this I would buy & play

@egordorichev I think this is an excellent submission, the biggest issue I see is relation to the theme.

I enjoyed playing your game, the pixel art is spot on, but I specially enjoyed the gravity mechanics and the puzzling levels in general.

I felt disengaged when got to the blue and green squares that make you bounce(gravity change), I felt that I have little control to stop my player from jumping into the bullets, that and the screen shake that takes place during this bounciness, made me stop playing.

The other obstacles were fun, running away from the bullets felt good.

Good Job!

A real fun and addicting mix between platformer with gravity mechanics such as VVVVVV and puzzle game which mechanics are very intuitive and easy to understand. Visually it reminds me a lot of the Game Boy Color era of games which may not be for everyone but a plus in my book.

If I had any complaints it's that it takes a lot of liberties with the theme of the jam, but I think the game itself makes up for that. Good job! :)

Really loved your gam!
I think the best part of it is music and challenge. Music, made fully by you in Pico-8, is truly shining through it, doesn't get boring and is totally catchy.
Graphics are absolutely great, I love the use of color palettes.
Gameplay is challenging and has great pace/learning curve - while first levels teach you how to play by itself, next throw you challenges to beat with your new skills.
I got strong Super Meat Boy vibes from it :)

What I would improve:
- the game gets super chaotic with its screenshake and tons of moving items on top of each other. I don't really think "cleaning balls" are that much of a needed feature - it could be just an aura or circle around the player, not fully animated - they get blended with enemy projectiles and other things quickly and bamboozle me a lot.
- totally add a sound for getting a key and make it disappear immediately - I never knew if I actually got the key or not :D
- found some bugs - could move through spaces I shouldn't be able to.

Overall, it was a really fun experience!

Really fun game. I'm enjoyed it. But i didn't get how it is connected with theme.
What can you improve? The control is little non-intuitive so it make more harder unnecessarily.

I won! 68 deaths. When I was 25 levels in and was *still* getting introduced to new mechanics... that's a pretty fleshed out game!

Why does every game made in PICO-8 look so good? =) Loved the final/victory screen.

There was a little too much screen shake, I think, I had to stop playing in full-screen. I think the pick-ups re-spawning/regenerating was a little cruel... a few times I finally, finally beat some challenging level only to see the ones at the beginning coming back :(. I did like that the particularly hard levels had no pickups at the beginning, which was great design.

Awesome game, the mechanic of respawning squares is awesome. You not only have to do it, but you have to do it fast.

Congrats on the entry!

Solid fun game and beautiful pixel art!
I managed to complete it, the level design was very good and I loved exploring the new mechanics that were introduced with each level.
Great Job!

Excellent graphics and music, and a very rich set of levels (though there could honestly have been fewer levels while keeping the game just as interesting). Two issues: 1) the level number does not seem to be displayed, and 2) there is one level with a key that is actually not necessary (but because of #1 I can’t tell you which level it was…)

Also thanks for sharing the timelapse; as a PICO-8 user it was very interesting to watch.

A platformer with awesome music and polished graphics. It connects to the theme quite loosely. Otherwise it feels like a real game, great job! I couldnt finish all the levels because Im very bad with these platform games that have rich movement mechanic, it really is a test of skills. Great job on putting it all together!

Platformering felt good, got to the 4th or so level where you had to stay ahead of the bullet and once I saw the dots regenerating back in the gauntlet I was done. It really doesn't feel great that your progress gets erased if you're not fast enough.
Graphics are great, audio is perfect, just felt like it should be a bit more forgiving.

It took close to half an hour to complete the massive number of levels, but great job on making the difficulty scale up well! I guess the theme didn't really come through that strongly but the mechanic of removing the corruption and the gravity hijinx was very well done! Great pico8 graphics, chiptune music and platformer controls are smooth as butter. One small nitpick would be that its difficult to jump/change gravity when you're jumping off a ledge. Great job!

Wow, really great game. Love the graphics and the sound. The gameplay mechanics were really nice. I like the little details like the collectible objects coming back if you are too slow and the wrapping of the level with the use of gravity to get around. Great job!

Very well made, I'm always impressed by the platformers you make! I got stuck on the 3 (I think) level, I'm pretty sure I got all of the orbs but it wouldn't progress to the next level. I'm not sure if I seem much of a match for the theme, but overall you did a really good job with this game! The polish is particularly impressive!

A compo entry with 31 stages and many mechanics? Impressive. The music is memorable, the graphics are nice and the game works very well. I died 64 times and took 26 minutes and 51 seconds for completing.

My only criticism was the visual feedback of backteria respawn. I frequently guessed that I colleted everything and some bacteria start to respawn after few seconds, so I suggest you for putting the feedback some seconds before.

How many levels do you have? 31? That's very impressive for PICO-8 compo game! In the beginning, I didn't understand what I have to do to complete a level, and it was pretty random. But when I got the idea, I started to complete levels like crazy :) Thanks for your game, you can also try our game :)

I really enjoyed crossing the levels of this little adventure game! The graphic style in pixel art is great and the music really immersive! The gameplay is very well thought as well as the level design in general! I think some additional mechanics for the player would make this game even better! Like being able to interact with objects for example. Great job! :)

By the way please feel free to leave us some feedbacks on our game!

i like the pixel arts style of this game! it's simple but nice, and it's pretty such a creative gameplay mechanics.... i have fun with this game... good job!
03. Sep 2018 · 13:08 UTC
There seems to be a lot of recycling from your previous LD entries, which does not go super nice with the LD Compo rules... At least in the visuals (tiles, background, particles - they might not be the exact same, but extremely similar) and in the design (platformer, with tiles that activate when you're close to them? :/).

All that said, this is a solid game. Controls are smooth, the gameplay mechanics work well. Music is very nice in particular. I just hope you take more risk with your next LD entry. :)

Always fun to tinker with gravity! Curious about why your time lapse starts with making what looks like a space ship.

@mrjoshuamclean I wanted to make an FTL2 inspired game, where you have to manage space trash. But then I screw up that idea, and went with a new one. And thanks for playing ;) (tho the link is wrong? :P)
