How To Play

Be as quick as you can, and package every item that is ordered, as quick as possible. As orders stack, you will have trouble finding the item you require to package and move the orders along, so be quick!

The more orders there are, the harder it gets!

Controls

WASD - Move

E - Interact

Comments

This is my first time participating in a JAM. It was really fun! I found that having a set goal made it easier to work on a game, but it was also quite stressful. I initially started commenting the code, and them completely stopped and started making spaghetti, so that's that.

Updates

I released an updated build. The Ludum Dare entry had a horrible screen shake when you dropped items, packaged items, and made mistakes, and the end game made people dizzy. So I toned it down incredibly and it's hardly noticeable now. I also fixed the bugs that I know in the game, so it should run much more smoothly now.

Thanks for playing!

A pretty good concept, with an implementation with a few minor flaws.

* I found it extremely annoying, that the screen was constantly shaking, and that the conveyor belts were glitching around
* If an item is coming on the belt, and in front of the belt i accidently dropped an item, it is pretty random which item you will pick up. Also, if you want to put it back you lose score.

I liked the graphics though, and the game run smoothly, which is a plus :)

The 'all shakes' effect was a little bit too much for me :D

Other than that, good job :)

Yeah, screen shaking is very annoying. And why doest it shake in main menu?

The game is really tough. It is difficult not just because you running out of time, it is hard to notice all text for items and boxes. More indications, please!

Graphics and sounds are neat. But you should tweak the gameplay.

@interpol @pavel-smejkal @tthe Yeah, the shake actually made me sick too, it was supposed to give a sense of urgency, but tbh once you get to the point, its almost impossible to win. Haha. The shaking of the conveyors was supposed to indicate that they're running, as the initial animation was difficult to see if they broke - I will tone this down a notch too. I had a default debug font running for a lot of the item text, and use information that I need to change, and was too lazy too, I will also do that. Thanks for the feedback!

Nice game idea but sadly the the screen shake was really exausting.
It was not that intuitive to find out what to do, but once the game ran it was fun (except for the shaking)

I have fixed all the problems everyone has mentioned and uploaded a new build which is more comfortable to play. Again, thanks all for the feedback!

Text is now green and big at the bottom left when indicating a correct thing to do, while it'll be red if there will be a problem.

You lose points for a variety of reasons:

- You try to package an item and there is no order in the list.
- You try to package an item in an incorrect box.
- You drop an item on the floor. (Plan ahead.)

I also added a few more things, like voice lines for guidance, which may help in some cases. Animation has been improved for the Conveyor and I have removed the awful shaking. All these changes are also reflected in the GitHub code.

I had a few glitches too. The soundtrack was pretty great and it's an appropriate concept:D

Intriguing idea, wish controls and UI were better though. True to the theme although not particularly fun. Good job nonetheless!

High score: 154
It's a bit random on what score you get, since I was always having to wait for the right box to come along, and the orders weren't leaving until a little bit after I got a line. Also, the scoring system was confusing. Good game nonetheless, great for killing time!

Argh the original version of that was pretty unplayable, the curse of screen shake. Much improved in the later version. Its fun enough, felt like there could have been more explanation of what went in what box and sometimes there was a lack of the correct kind of box. I was also confused that the ones i fulfilled stayed in the list, I would have expected them to disappear and then the difficulty slowly ramp up. Instead it seems like its always a fixed number of items

@automatonvx The reason is because the first orders block the others from passing so its important to clear the early orders first. I'm annoyed that I added the screen shake, I wanted a little more feedback for the player but it was the wrong thing to do. The game should help you fulfil the first order if the list gets too big to keep things moving. I appreciate the feedback!

The idea is good, but as many others mentioned, it is sometimes hard to reliably pick up a specific item.
Viusuals and sounds felt very good.
I only notices the text in the bottom left halfway through my run. It might be good, to make it more obvious, so that people notice it.

I LOVE conveyor belts, so this is a game for me and the art style is fantastic. I really liked the running around and trying to find the right boxes even though the pickup system was quite "unclear". You wouldn't really know which item you would take. I also think it would be good if it had a difficulty curve because now its hard right from the gecko. God job!

Whoah, shaking belts and shaking camera.

Well, otherwise it was nice game. I liked the general feel of the game and managed to put items to correct boxes. Broke the conveyor belt multiple times for good amount of points!

Don't know why dropping item on the ground cost so many points though?

@swear Haha, awesome, thankyou! I played both of you LD games and thought both were great. I found the conveyer one more fun, but you've improved with the newest release.

@azuredraco Im so sorry! The shakes do ruin the experience. If you enjoyed it try the new build cause it fixed a lot of the issues. Point loss for dropping items is supposed to stop players from rushing as many items without concern for what boxes are available and what orders are made. It would also be easy for the players to drop items as reservation for other orders without a penality. Thanks for the feedback!

I have no idea how you managed to test the game but the constant shaking of convey belts and the sudden camera shakes made me sick in under 2 minutes :D :D

Overall, great take on the theme of LD and nice graphics :)

What a wild ride, that initial version! Improved greatly in the update. I agree with the other comments re: the basic mechanics. Would love to see this idea tweaked and fleshed out more fully. Congrats, & have a great LD!
