Consecutive Meteor Crunches by Brent Chance

[raw]
made by Brent Chance for LD 40 (JAM)

Help Saitama train by jumping from falling meteor to falling meteor.

Choose which meteor to jump to by using the [Arrow Keys] or [WASD].

Be careful! If you jump without a place to land, Saitama will have to start all over again.

Watch out! If you take too long to choose a meteor, they'll crush Saitama!

Be wary! Tornado isn't known for her patience. She'll speed up the meteors if the training goes on for too long!

Jump as high as you can!

Nice job. I liked your camera movements and the general aesthetic! The difficulty scaled a bit slowly, but I could tell things were speeding up.

WHAT A LOVELY INTERFACE! Awesome animations, congratulations!

Its not clear to the player that he is landing at the new meteor. What I though is that I was jumping and nothing happened. Maybe you can change a little bit the color of the meteor. And also change the meteor color on the jump animation. So its clearer for the player.

This was great! I really liked the menus. I was a little confused about how to play at first, but I figured it out eventually. I feel like I would have liked it if the difficulty scaled a little more quickly.

Quite funny and simple game. I didn't get at the start that it's not the main menu, lol. Instant loose.

Camera movement and HUD transitions are very smooth. It helps not to get seasickness with so much camera rotations.

But why OnePunchMan? If I remember correctly, he has no problems with crushing meteors.

First of all, nice reference in the title. :P
I liked how simple sketchy models worked with posing and fancy camera angles, programmers' art at it's best lol.
The music was good.
I only wish difficulty would increase faster.

Interesting concept! I was also confused at first and thought that nothing was happening and I was just landing back where I started. But once you get going it's pretty fun to try to keep a chain going. I think it would have helped if you broke the meteor that you were on as you launch off of it, that way you know that you aren't landing on the same thing.

Interesting idea, but visually it was hard to understand what was happening at first. When i first loaded the game up, the game just started, but I was waiting for maybe a title screen, or a "click to start" or something. Just stood there and died.

The camera movement and animations where smooth, thought those were done well. Like what @feedlipe said above, it was hard to tell what was actually happening with the amount of movement from the camera. It didn't feel like jumping meteor to meteor, more like i was just jumping to dodge what was incoming and landing back in the same place.

Great idea overall and look forward to seeing what you can do with it.

The camera movements really helped add to the heroic feel of things. It has Saitama and it looks nice, so kudos.

Nice work! I liked the main character guy! It was a little hard to tell what was happening when he jumped as he didn't seem to jump towards any of the meteors, but i liked the jump animation. Great job!

I'll be honest, I've played this game mainly for the One Punch Man reference haha.
But the graphics were fun and the game was good.

Good job!
