Galaxy Survivor by treylon

[raw]
made by treylon for LD35 (COMPO)
Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.

Admiral Johnson: "Yeah great slogan but these assholes left our Space-Helicopter-Landing-Platform-Ship behind without any weapons."
Crewman Doe: "Sir, a hell lot of meteors are coming our way!"
Admiral Johnson: "Well, let's see what we can achieve with our SHAPE-SHIFTING SUPER ULTRA MAGIC MODULE that can change between being a shield generator or an engine booster.
Crewman Doe: "But Sir that doesn't really sound like shape-shifting that just sounds like our ship has to different features?"
Admiral Johnson: "SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU READ-SHIRT. You are assigned to the next outside mission."

PS: Sorry guys for the limited capabilites of the game. Completely restarted with this idea after half of the time.

5/5 humor for the description :P
Otherwise a simple game, but quite good considering you restarted the game halfway through. It could have benefited from a score counter or something...

I liked it, but it would have been nice if there was some sort of progression, or story.
Also, does the description count towards humor?

A simple game that's been quite well executed...the main thing holding this back from getting higher scores is the lack of content

Score counter that displays during the game instead of just upon completion would be nice. I don't know if putting up shields and ramming asteroids is helping, hurting, or having no effect on my score. Music doesn't loop cleanly. From a game balance perspective, the shield feels too powerful. I got a score of 8621 by just staying in place and toggling it. Perhaps absorbing asteroids should cost energy, or the largest asteroids shouldn't be absorbable? As things stand I never see a reason to go into the blue form.
