About the Game

Powers is a platformer that focuses on learning Six different skills. (Only 4 available in the Alpha Build). Fire, Water, Thunder, Wind, Light and Dark.

Each of these skills is unique.

Fire has the user shoot a fireball in front of them in a line.

Water creates a barrier around the user that dampens damage.

Thunder creates a powerful bolt that splits in two and acts as an AOE kind of attack.

Wind allows the user to move faster for a set amount of time.

Light creates shields that prevent the enemy from going through, they weaken overtime.

Dark allows the user to teleport away from their current location.

Controls

You can use a Gamepad for this game, however, Joysticks will currently not work.
Keyboard:

Left / Right - Move

Space - Jump

Z - Power

Enter - Skill Tree

Backspace - Pause

X - Cancel

A / S - Switch Powers

F7 & F8 - Scale Window Up / Down

F10 - Fullscreen

Known Issues:

There are still a few issues with the game which are being ironed out.

Enemy AI - When a Slime attacks, sometimes it knocks the player flying into the air or the player doesn't get knocked back. (Invincibility Frames help here)

Enemy AI - Slimes Hate Slopes for some reason, possibly something to do with the shape of the Hitbox.

Powers - Water and Wind don't update instantly after you rank them up and need to be reused once they wear off.

Powers - Sparks now have gravity, but don't handle slopes well.

Camera - During the Title, the camera pans to the player even though the camera is position at the player.

Alpha Build has no audio or sound effects. These will hopefully be coming in the next build, but bug fixing is currently a priority.

Ok, the game was pretty good. I like the array of powers, but man... that resolution...

I could barely SEE the game, let alone play it. But aside from that, the game's solid.

F7 and F8 rescale the window, by default it is set to a scale of 1 because I forgot to change it. You can also zoom in and out with the scroll wheel if you so wish.
I will add this to the controls as I seem to have forgot to mention it. But thanks for trying it out.

I liked it! The Skill-Tree mechanic is very cool and inspiring :D However, the controls were somewhat unintuitive xP

I agree with the comment above: cool little game with great potential, but those controls are not intuitive.

Nice game but I wish there was soundtrack. Also amount and spawn rate of slimes is tho high for me.

I am working on fixing the bugs that are causing issues such as the enemy AI not knocking you back. I am concerned that I will not be able to get it released for the rating process but I want to finish the game to a better standard.

Hi! I found a bug: when you are trying to jump and hit the slime you will be launched right into the air.

I like your pixel art, but the screen is very small, I think it's because of pixelart size.

Yes, that bug seems to happen because it is adding to the vertical velocity multiple times in one frame but it sometimes doesn't. This bug is one that is being fixed over time.

As for the screen size, the screen is scaleable however I forgot to change the default Window Scale to the the mid range scale to make it easier for people.
