BattleFarm: Bullet Season by Crimson

In this farming simulation/bullet hell, use your trustworthy farm to survive the war you did not sign up for!
Use WASD/Arrow Keys to move.
Press 1/2/3 to change your item.
Press Space to plant your item.
Press E to eat your grown items and regain health.
Be smart with what you plant! Corn is your most balanced item with a great growth rate. Sunflowers heal you for more but are very fragile. Watermelons can tank a lot of bullets but have a slow growth rate.

Pretty cool concept. I think I found myself planting watermelons on the outsides exclusively and then corn in the middle. Not sure if there was much subtlety to the placements beyond that. I think I would have liked if there were a bit more aspects of planting more reactively in response to the enemies that you were seeing but since the enemies just showed up with continuous escalation there wasn't really a clear player heuristic to stray from that planting strategy.
Really liked the art. Really liked the originality. Love the mood of the whole thing - a farmer trying to defend his farm from the army.
Still, good idea pretty well executed and could be even better with some more refinement.
I'd love if you could play and rate my game too

Some of you asked about sound, the truth is I had already recorded the sound effects I wanted in the weekend of LD41, but had no time to put them in the game. After voting is over, I'll make sure to update with a post-jam version with sound, some small balance changes for the plants and soldiers, and improved hitboxes. Thanks again for your comments!
The graphics were very nice and it was really fun to play. I think if you could make it last longer and the difficulty more gradual that would be better. Also, you could consider using my first assumption and make this farmer the first line of defense for one of the teams. That could make things more interesting. All in all great work. Congratulations :)
I followed you. If you decided to make a post-jam version let me know :)
