Hyperspace Sacrifice by Alex D

[raw]
made by Alex D for LD 43 (JAM)

Ship AI core: As we approach the dangerous system I prepared the crew to protect our cargo. This cargo is so important the crew has been tricked to think we transport ancient relics. This way they will give their lives to protect it if I order so. As I carry humans I did bring some fuel for them. I figured they don't run for long without food.

The game is playable though a bit rough around the edges. Best played at 1600x900. If you do not see the Start button, attempt other resolutions or Windowed vs Full Screen mode. Thanks!

Tools used: Unity3D, Reaper, and Krita.

Hi! thanks for the feedback, it's probably a resolution issue, we used 1600x900 in our tests. I'll put that in comment. Additionally I published an updated version that should fix it. Thanks again for your help !

Quite atmospheric, feels pretty depressing and hopeless, especially thanks to the music. Good job!

Gosh, localised fires are a real problem in modern space travel. Love the FTL 'feel' of the game and a neat take on the theme. It can get quite hectic despite being a point and click affair. Really good atmosphere too, well done!

Very nice presentation. One of the few games to establish an interesting atmosphere.

Nice to play :) Simple mechanics
I like the graphics (but as you disabled voting on it I think it mean it's not yours :p)

Hi all! Actually for the graphics, we modified an existing ship but also reused existing icons, so not completely our own... we did the UI though ;)

wow that was difficult. I didn't managed to win. verry nice idea.
I think a few more mechanics would be nice. Maybe something like special crew members and a second rescource like energy or thomething.

The game is simple to understand but its a bit a game do probabilities, it gives you some objections, what is cool. It fits really well with the theme but I think it gets repetitive after a bit. You should consider including a few more mechanics to make the game more fun.

The game is cool until you realise there is next to no skill involved. I lost the game because my last relic room was destroyed even though I had a 97% chance to save it. Kinda tilted.

I like that the base chance for saving a room goes up the more people are already in the room, but I think the increase in chance should itself increase the more people you put towards the crisis.

What I mean by that is the first person you choose to sacrifice adds 10%, the second person adds a further 11%, the third person adds a further 12%, etc. etc.
