Title2.png

UF-Ohh is a small puzzle game loosely based on the 90's computer game "Lawyers". Collect all the cows in a level to teleport to the next based on your CowPower, and reach the portal to return to your home world!

Room2.png

The idea of the game fit too well with the theme not participate. I apologize in advance for the art - I am a programmer first and an artist like eighth...

Room7.png

Controls: * WASD or arrow keys to move * QEZC for diagonal movement * Space to "pass" a turn * F to teleport (Requires 2 cows; consumes 1 cow.)

The game can be reliably completed in under 15 seconds. Good Luck, have fun, and don't die!

Both the game and the GameMaker:Studio 1.4 project file are available using the itch.io link below. This is my first Ludum Dare, and my first solo game jam, so I apologize in advance if this doesn't live up to expectations. Do let me know if you enjoy the game though!

Small but neat game that lets the player try different tactics, I like it, but some levels are very hard and the random teleportation can sometime ruin the game

On my keyboad y and z are reversed, so it gets a little bit confusing with the directions ;)

Good puzzle game, could spend many hours trying to solve each level, but would have to turn off the music

When you say the game can be completed in 15 seconds, do you mean any random level?
Does the game ever end or does it just keep giving you random levels?

I really really like the title
Its both UFO and Uh-Ohh which is hilarious combined

Thanks for asking @niborious! The game does have a "victory" that can be accomplished fairly reliably within about 15 seconds. The hints are pretty useful for solving the puzzle, but you can PM me on Reddit (/u/PixelSpice) if you want the solution.

Fun little puzzle game. I think the random teleportation makes it a bit too easy to solve some of the levels. Is that intended? Level 3 seems impossible without, but I could just be bad at puzzle games ><

@Nammflow the third level is actually intended to force you to learn the teleport! Not every level can be solved without the teleport, so sometimes the randomness does end up getting you killed. Would have liked to have spent more time on the puzzles and have teleport to specific points instead of random, but didn't end up adding that.

This is like that minotaur game. I like it!

Nice games and good level design. My only complain is the diagonal movement that feels a little unintuitive. Maybe some kind of mouse controls could fix this issue?

Hey it was a pleasant game to play through. I do not get the connection to the theme, it bugs me as you specifically said that it is obvious

Hey, fancy seeing another Sam B around here! :P
Anyway, this was actually a really good game! The teleportation mechanic allowed for lots of random situations, including pleasant 'oh look I'm right there' moments. Again, the diagonal move is a tad temperamental to pull off but it's not too much of a problem. Overall great game! :D

@samboyer276 @Jani-nykanen Not sure if you noticed, but you can use ZECQ to move diagonally a bit more reliably. I think mouse controls probably would have worked better, but originally I was going with W+D, A+S etc for diagonal movement, but like you mentioned it wasn't very consistent.

I think the movement would have been more intuitive using the numeric keypad or having buttons on the screen to press. But as a puzzler it works.

Cool idea, and as you said, it is a great match to the theme. Some levels are tricky even with the teleport (still stuck on the one where both ships are surrounded by guys), and the fact that they may come down to luck rather than just skill can be a bit frustrating at times.

However, I like the puzzle part. I'll keep trying to beat the game for a while. Congrats!

PS: Darn, you got my evil plan of bookmarking! ;) No seriously, thank you for your feedback!

@badly-drawn-rod that's a fantastic idea! I don't have a number pad and sometimes forget they exist.

@ithildin - here's a hint - the level where you are completely surrounded (kinda looks like a face) doesn't require any luck to beat - there are actually two non-teleport solutions to that one. The game is actually meant to be more frustrating the more cows you have - and you have a way to control the number of cows you have ;-)

Hey! Nice game and nice implementation
At least, this game some time from me :)

If you use the teleportation, u will start prev level after complete this level? This was not so clear, why I replay some levels

anyway, good game with clear goals

Hey @insality, you aren't going crazy, you do teleport to previous levels sometimes. The description alludes to this, but the number of cows you have at the end of the level controls which level you go to next!

> Collect all the cows in a level to teleport to the next based on your CowPower, and reach the portal to return to your home world!
