A very cool concept with a great aesthetic. Quite difficult if you don't know the layout of your keyboard very well! I played a few times before I felt like I was done with it. I don't know how I would suggest you develop it further.

Never played like this before. It's very nice.
I wonder if this is possible to auto-detect the keyboard's layout of the player?
Good job.

This game is tough, but some of the other comments raise a good point - you created a unique gameplay mechanic, so you should be applauded for that. Also, this game feels different. Another plus. And it has a coherent look and feel to it. It's just really hard, though. Maybe if you slow the boulders down a tiny bit, or reduce the number of them a tiny bit, early on, so the player can get accustomed to it. Also, I like the title - Kiwi is the Key.

Also, I think you should make it so the spikes can't randomly appear on the square you're already standing on.

@eptwalabha we wanted to auto-detect the keyboard's layout, or at least let the user personalize it, but we didn't have enough time. If we decide to continue with the game, we'll include it for sure ;)

Very well executed game design, art, mechanics and atmosphere!

Cool game. A week ago I watched a GDC video where there was a game that used the movement with the keyboard just like your game, it was awkward to play at first, but once I got the hang of it was a nice experience =)

Love the unique movement control. I found it pretty difficult - maybe the game should start off a bit easier? Good job!

Our team does a weekly indie gamedev podcast called Nice Games Club, and we just did a Let's Play episode where we played thirty-six (!!) Ludum Dare 40 games, including yours (which we thought was very unique)!
