victory1big.gif You've uncovered an ancient RITUAL. It's said to grant immeasurable magic power to those that complete it. All it requires is a little down-payment - your LIFEFORCE.

Summon a series of nightmarish monsters to battle with in this horror action game. Will you gather enough ARCANE POWER in 7 days to repay your debt? Or will you PERISH during your SACRIFIGHTS?

Daaaang! Insane amount of crazy detailed and beautiful art. Really can't express how blown away I was to see the giant spider -- and then it went in to RAGE mode!!! Hilarious voice overs too. Felt pretty close to a complete game. I get that death is probably inevitable at some points, but the difficulty seems to be a guessing game choosing the right items to get the right progression order and not in the actual bullet-hell dodging / aiming. It was a little frustrating just getting owned in unbeatable scenarios and then subsequently running out of items. Once it's balanced and tweaked it'll be amazing! Really great concept - thanks for sharing! (edit - looks like I didn't know how to run -- that probably makes a difference...)

Amazing! Kudos for graphics and music! Especially when the monster goes into rage mode, that song brings back some nostalgia atmosphere from a different era of gaming.

At times it feels hard to play and beat the monsters, some are very hard to fight, or if you manage to finish all your sacrifice items. But it feels like an almost complete game with unique atmosphere, so bravo team!

Gorgeous graphics! But do we expect anything elss from Lumpy ?

I loved the mood and style of the game also, sounsd are great.
Gameplay is a bit hard for me but thats the oldskool style, game were a lot harder back then.

I think this game will end up high in a few catogeries.

Perfect, I just have nothing negative to say. Everything is so polished and there is just so much content, I can't believe you did this in such a short time!

This game was absolutely brilliant, had a lot of fun with it! I got CREAMED on my first play-through due to running out of items to use, but after that, I understood the game a little more better. Then somehow the game got quite a bit more easier in places, while still being fun and challenging in others. There's so much playtime in this game too!

It could still be balanced quite a bit but I had a lot of fun with it! Great work by the team.

PS. I hated the spider, until I could cream it.

@thesomeonexd Speaking as someone who was demolished by the spider a lot, returning back to fight it and blowing it out of the water is the most satisfying thing ever. (but have you found the clown spider?) Thank you for playing!

@lumpy IT FELT SO GOOD TO BEAT THE LIVING DAYLIGHT OUTTA THAT SPIDER. As for the clown spider, nope. The most common enemy I got was mostly the robot(s). Might just boot up the game to see the clown spider lol

EDIT: I got creamed by the spider twice again  lol

Amazing work. This has a lot of content for a jam, which is really impressive. I don't know if I'm missing something but I ate and sacrificed everything, so all I could until the last day was sleep(still beat the boss though).

Great job. My favorite game so far.

@cassio-eduardo @unplugred you can get in a bit of trouble if you scarf down EVERYTHING/lose a lot of fights. It can make you pretty low on items. I'd recommend attempting to complete the Dollar Bill bosses without dying, that sets you up for success/you'll have enough items to not have to sleep as much!

Thank you for playing!

Outstanding game, loved it. It felt really complete and outdone.
Boss fights are pretty basic but it was fun to see that you could sacrifice a stapler and summon a succube that throws hearts at you. I have laughed a lot!
Great sub Lumpy !

Omg, the graphics and the voice/music is so good! For some reason the atmosphere reminds me a bit of of Commander Keen. Really lovely pixel art - the colors, pixelart and UI. The colors are great. :)

I can't believe you did this in three days, this is an insane amount of content of good quality, congratulations! I really love the whole rogue in an enclosed space idea, it's brilliant! The graphics have so much personality and look really good, the audio is wonderful too, the voices can be a bit cringy but they definitely add something to the demons' personalities. The main problems are probably balance, I've read about people having a hard time, however I've played through the game without any difficulty, the demons were almost always kept sealed long enough for me to kill them right there.

Absolutely amazing game. The art & sound were fantastic! The gameplay felt really good and the mechanic of choosing whether to power up or use the item to fight a different demon. It was so much fun finding out what demon each item summoned too. Fantastic work by you both!

The sounds get kind of noisy toward the end,

...but I guess it's logical to hear madden voice in my head at that state. xD

Another great game!

Amazing audio, art, everything! One bug (?) I noticed: if you get a game over, and esc back to the starting screen, the gameover music and menu music play on top of each other.

@goosyberry That's currently a bug with the html5 version! The downloadable version is the way to go to avoid that.

I loved this one! The graphics gave me a Zombies Ate My Neighbors/Secrets of Evermore vibe which is always a plus. The game itself was so much fun that I didn't realize how much time I lost. The bosses were very fun. The spider head dude and the business demon were funny. Really great entry and definitely one of my favourites.

The music is great! The organ fits the mood really well. The game looks fantastic, and little details like the floating text when picking up an item adds a lot to the overall polish. The game overall seems to have a lot of depth. I was also blown away by the tutorial at the start. I don't remember seeing a LD game with a full tutorial. Lastly, the different types of demons you can summon are really clever. Super impressive that you did this in a weekend!

Boy that was an amazing experience, so much content for 3 days! Amazing art, voices were on-spot, and the game felt so old skool. I was able to complete it on the first playthrough.

I didn't know what to do at the start and went to sleep right on the first day with full HP...before I figured out that I could go back to the sacrificial room and sacrifice the items I had, haha. I think this the best game I've played yet, this LD.

Awesome game. Really liked the art and the different enemy trees you could go through. I eventually got so strong I could beat em all before they broke out of the seal. It was real fun figuring out what things might get summoned by sacrificing a stapler :D

I know it's already been said, but it's pretty crazy the amount of polish this game brings...Considering you were a team of two people, it's insane!

Loved the creature design and this powerful retro-feel.

Complete experience, super solid entry. Well done!

This game is beautiful and the way that the music breaks out during the fights is so good. Very well done!
