Truck, Fuel my Rockets by garethjenkins
Use WASD to move your truck around to collect fuel pods. Take them back to your launch pad to build rockets. Don't run out of fuel!
There are computer-controlled players as well but you're playing against yourself (they're just after the same fuel). How many rockets can you build?

There's intentionally no end game, it's a how-much-can-you-do-before-running-out-of-fuel thing. The balance that's in the submitted version is intentionally a bit easier than I was playing it by the end of the weekend, but interested to hear how others get on. I'll likely put up a version with "effects off" for low-spec machines, so might include a difficulty toggle in that as a post-compo version.

Tools and stuff: Unity for game engine, no plugins apart from the beta of Unity's own post processing stack and their example particle effects package. Maya for modelling. Illustrator for textures. Music done in Ableton Live. Sound effects all vocals into mic and edited in Audacity & Audition.

Post-compo update
Based on the initial comments (in which everybody pointed out the controls), I've done a post-compo build that uses relative left/right controls. I've only changed the directionality of the controls to make sure that the post-compo version is as close to the original compo version as possible, while giving people what is obviously a more generally preferable control scheme. The link to the original compo version is below.
Original compo builds (controls are world relative): https://www.dropbox.com/sh/dy6fdpyh5fnjrst/AADg7FD5GI2t6x2TvXYF_fU7a?dl=0
Personally I prefer the post-compo (more visibly drifty controls) for fun, but the original compo controls for the challenge and this specific game. If I were to develop this further I'd go for some balance between the two, but likely also change some of the fuel placement and map details to better suit the relative controls.

About the difficulty:
I don't think the game is too easy, maybe a little bit too hard. But I think that also has something too do with the controlls.
It might be a good idea to have different attachments, like perhaps a magnet, or a big shovel, or the ability to steal fuel from the bots. Also, it could be cool to have more trucks per rocket, and maybe only two or three teams. That way you could also have ally interaction, and the game depth would be increased.
About balance. For me, it wasn't really hard to get past 30, but it was **too long damn time**. Better increase fuel lost amount, so the 'hard point' is about 10 level.
Music was fine, it didn't make me mad or irritated.
Also, try rating other devs' games too, then more people will be able to rate your game.
I almost forgot. Sounds made by trucks and rockets are absolutely splendid xD
Also, fuel is spawn on the right of the pad, making it roll to the right of the map. Seems a little bit unfair.
Graphics are cool, lighting effects adding a lot to the atmosphere.

The music was a bit too serious for the game, a more joyful/playful soundtrack would fit better in my opinion.
Overall great work!
Great job, good luck!
Graphics are nice and consistent, but I did find issue with being green as the colour on the minimap is almost the same as the yellow energy which made it hard to distinguish how much energy was floating about my rocket base thing. It was easier to tell them apart in game, just a little annoying if your too far away to see them. Anyway small gripe, nothing big.
Okay I've waffled on way too much, great game! Really enjoyed it :grinning:
The controls were smooth, I really liked that they stayed with you, so it was always truck left not my left.
Graphics were beautifully done, and the first time I power slid around a corner and lost half the load of fuel won me over. Beautiful touch.
I think a few more obstacles to avoid, and some power ups or other game aspects to change the speed/game cycle from being an endless loop.
IT's a lot of fun to play as is, and really well done for a weekend worth of effort.
Huge props for the audio. The music suited it really well.
One plus: I really like that the fuel is freely moving, so you have to take care about not spilling it when the truck is full. That's great!
Great work overall, good job setting up the mood, +1 for the vocal sounds there! ;D
