I instantly fell for your screenshot! I'm a sucker for ascii art (and I also made a text based game).
I managed to complete the game (kiss kiss kiss ;-D), but for a while it felt super hard - before I got to a cluster of pickups.
Anyway, a good and solid entry with awesome ascii art! =D

Just a nice fun, sweet game! Aww! Finished with about 3% love left. Also there was this one moment:

Date: So what do you want to be when you grow up?

Me, a cold unfeeling robot: With 1000 thousand dogs

Date: Aww, me too! Dogs are the best!

Date: Aww, look there's one now!

Me: He appears 84% angry according to my scanners

Me: I will beat him to death with my robotic tentacles

*Robot tentacles appear out of hands*

Me: HAHAHAHAHA

Date: ...

Me: So want to continue our walk through the park?

Also, what was the lost cellphone for?

@jacoder23 It was meant to be a joke, but I had no idea for the punchline :P
Anyway, thanks for your comment ! Glad you liked my game

Brilliant combination, just wondering who the enemies are? Probably just paparazzi ;)

@jaime-paz-lopes @Blinkenlights I didn't understood theses comments at first but then I realized small screen might cut out the right part of the menu, where the ennemies informations are. I put a smaller font size so tell me if it's good now. And thanks for your comments.

Super silly, I love it! The conversations, the robot in disguise(which felt the most powerful to me,) it's just lighthearted fun.

Very funny game. Very hard, but still got the point across rather well. Very neat genre combination

Hahahahahaha! So poetic! I love the jokes, this is my type of humor. Fantastic!! I played three times, I lost the two first times but the last time I managed to get a kiss. I'm impressed by how much content you managed to get in by this short amount of time. Gear work!

Thank you so much for this experience and good luck in the future! Have an awesome day, and I hope to see you in the next jam!

At first I got a score of 0, but then by my third attempt, I managed to do quite well...this was actually quite an accurate depiction of my high school experience :) Very fun and original game, and this was my first time playing a game with ASCII style - I loved it

@Toulou WOW! Incredible!

At the beginning I was a bit sceptical because I usually find story heavy games a bit boring. But this game kept me hooked until the very end. It was so good that I instantly decided to play it a second time, so I could try out another character class. I can't believe how much content you could create in such a short time. I have a question: Was this game created with only html and javascript? If so, respect. I also love the Ascii graphics, especially the different face expressions of the character. I think some more color variation would have made it easier to differentiate between enemies, items and walls. Also some sound would have been cool but maybe this is hard to implement with html and javascript (I never used sound on websites,so I don't know anything about that).

It would be really cool if you could check out the game we created and leave some feedback :)

lmao I've never seen anything like this before, great job! the fact that it's playable on a browser is awesome too and and supports the style of the game. I was surprised at how much mechanics you implemented, even though they were still pretty simple. The game was really fun to play and you mixed two genres really well, good job!

*Kiss* <3 <3 <3

Excellent game, all the texts (items, enemies types) changing depending on the place you visit just immerse yourself in the story, doing this with only ASCII art is a proof of good content !

The enemies names are fun by the way, everyone always wanted to kick a loudy kid (I think it was in the park) 😄

You should maybe center the game in the browser for better visibility 🙂

Really cute game!

What Worked:
clever use of theme, easy controls, cute dialogue, great mood.

What needs some polish:
Centering the map in the middle of the screen, maybe making key points (like instructions) more noticeable.

Great job overall! :D

Nice little game, the elements were spread out on the screen a bit too much and its a shame that walking makes love go down! But I like the blend of themes and always like a good ASCII game.

This was brilliant!

The blend of themes was unusual, and it worked great. Nice humour bits and rogue-like mechanics sold me completely. Also, I really liked the addition of dialogue + choice during the dungeons.
Some text colours to better distinguish the entities on each level would have been nice, but other than that the game feels already very solid.

I managed to get through two dates as a nerd, but I still suck at love :sob:

Really a funny twist for the genre!
I liked playing, though it was almost too easy

Having a bit of sound (e.g. music) would help the mood quite a bit, but creating music during LD is... almost impossible. At least for me, it is.

It's a great idea to combine classic ASCII dungeon crawler with romance. I think, shortcuts for links would be really good, but even without it, the game plays pretty comfortly (otherwise _Vimium_ can be used). Great work! =)

This is really cute! It's a fun RPG too. The pacing of it was perfect; it felt like I was always just barely making it to the next item or the exit. The ASCII art also really fit the feel of it. Great job!

Nice cute game. You managed to keep me engaged with limited visuals which is difficult. Some of the questions the date asks you are quite repetetive I believe. Sound and sound effects are important too. Other than than, Great entry.

Hah, that was interesting~ It's... not QUITE a well-blended mix, but then again, these two genres ARE quite incompatible, so. The dialogue was cute, and though the combat was shallow, it certainly FELT like an old roguelike dungeon. Overall, as short as it was, I had fun! Well done~

ASCIIness hooked me up into this game. I kept two Romantic Musics until the last moment when I used them, so I ended with 100% love. I'm such a sly bastard.
