Bloodgold: Sunken Treasure by BinarySpark
Loot calls from the bottom of the sea
You're a viking ... looting and pilfering at the bottom of the sea! Why? Doesn't matter, just get cracking!
Ugly fishy monsters will try to stop you, but a good smack from your axe should solve that problem. Grab the gold and get out - leave nothing behind.
How to Play
- Move with the WASD or arrow keys.
- Left-click to attack with your axe.
Right-click to throw gold. This costs gold!
Gather as much gold as you can. But beware: carrying all that gold makes you slow.
- Greed must be managed -- sacrifices must be made.
- Gold is your health, score, a weapon, and a burden. Manage it well - run out and you lose.
- There are four levels in total, each building upon the previous.

The graphics were nice, I found the visual effect of the spikes, especially the 'warning' flash to be really innovative.
In the first few levels the 'sacrifice' part of the game, with the gold coins, felt a bit off, but it definitely becomes useful later on.
The small step forward when swinging the axe felt really good, and the controls were easy to get used to.
Finally the level design was very good. Very good job guys!
I will say, there are probably too many enemies for someone to genuinely make it through without losing gold... so it's more about mitigating losses and my brain is kinda ocd on that, so I'm trying not to lose a single drop of gold and that's not really feasible. So that was kinda frustrating, but that's more on me.
But Overall, the game was good and enjoyable :) Well done!
i think my favorite part was at the end of the first level when half my screen was covered in coins and my bag was really big. really made you feel like you were encumbered by all the gold you were carrying; that effect was weigh more effective than just having a number counter or saying "encumbered" on the screen like in Skyrim XD
didnt complete it because the mobs got too hard for me, but the bit i did play was engaging and fun!
I like the additional details, such as your bag and UI getting bigger as you get more gold. There's a lot of content for a gamejam game IMO. The mechanics interact in interesting ways, as you can lure enemies on spikes or block them off by raising walls and then killing them while remaining unreachable yourself.
The only bug I noticed was that enemies could manage to pass through walls if you give them enough time. I also never felt the need to use the coin throwing mechanic. Still, one of my favorite games so far.

also, there's no need to save your gold. maybe adding a store to use it or a skill tree etc might make it better
