The first few upgrades come with little cost, but to replace them requires those upgrades to be disposed of. Not everyone agrees with that.

How to play! open the BALANCE tab on the top of your screen to open a selection of cards

cards appear in the grey storage rectangle, scroll to move through the upgrade cards (bronze

move an upgrade card to the right green box to upgrade the machine, the stats of each card appears while hovering over it

you can only have 6 upgrade slots, sacrifice an upgrade card to the red box on the far right where the cards detrimental properties will emerge

open the resources tab on the top of the screen to make sure your industry is in check, new cards are researched by scientists

you can upgrade your garage to a lab, as well as add machines by moving appropriate cards to the far left rectangle in the BALANCE tab

Once you have obtained the three diamond cards as well as the laboratory and three machines consider your self triumphant!
