I started thinking, 'this is kinda silly'.

Then I played through 3 levels - well done :).

@kadecgos Yeah, I think at some point we embraced the silly. Thanks for playing!

Two games in one! Ambitious!
I think the platformer controls could be a little tighter. Or maybe it just needs a bit more "game-feel" on the platformer stage. I felt like I'd rather be playing the coin battle game, but I didn't want to take the time to collect better coins. If you can get the platformer feeling a bit better, it'll be amazing! I really like the concept.

Impressive effort for a weekend!

@plexsoup Thanks for playing! It's definitely possible we bit off more than we could chew with having two parts to the game

I like the coin battle idea, so original, but the platformer part had some bugs. But the game have charisma :)

I actually really enjoyed the platformer bit, even though the collision was a bit wonky, it controlled really tightly, kind of like I wanna be the guy.

I also enjoyed the hidden information game! Great job.

Gotta love the mix of gameplay elements and how they're tied in together! For the platformer I couldn't jump whilst landing on a minion no-matter what I did, not sure if it wasn't working or I'm really bad at jumping! It might also be good to have a 'straight to battle' button. Overall great job, you really got a lot done.

@rafa-braga Thanks for playing!

@dennis-jeong I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it! There's definitely more work we could do on the collisons though

@maytch Thanks for playing! The landing jump can be tricky as we didn't have time to tweak it. Try holding the jump button down while you land on them, rather than trying to press it right as you hit them. And you can press TAB to go straight to battle!

First off, I love the announcer voice. Really the whole game can be summed up by that voice, fun and silly. The coin battle is seriously fun, trying to figure out which coin they will play. Definitely more tension than I thought a battle of coins could have. I also enjoyed the platforming bit. Lots of little puzzles to figure out trying to get little bits and pieces to assist in the next battle. My only criticism is you should have parodied Pokemon, Coins! gotta buy them all. Great job guys!

The coin battle portion of the game was really unique and surprisingly fun. Great idea adding the platformer section to gather new coins and intel on the upcoming battle. The only issues I ran into were with the enemy jump and getting trapped by the floating clouds were able to trap me against a wall on the third level in that small shaft at the bottom left so I wasn't able to get away to continue collecting coins. I'd be interested in trying a polished up version if you decide to continue development on it.

Thanks for rating our game!

Good project. I like how the game combined various types of gameplay into one package. As far as guessing games go, maybe it can be more interesting if a bit more risk/reward is introduced, e.g, an added functionality that allows characters to play more than 1 coin in a turn, but inversely also affects their ability to perform in the next coin match-up. Something to spice-up the heated battle between Coin Guessers.

I thought the platforming part was a little bit silly, but it did help to break up some monotony with clearly defined goals like gathering more Hints about your opponents and getting coins. i.e , I was expecting a shop but I get to play Mario.

This is so fantastic! We actually came across a similar idea in our brainstorming, but you took it to a whole-nother level. The battle mechanic was very well thought-out and the tutorial helped me pick it up instantly. Then taking the idea of "coin collecting" and mashing it up with mario is the funniest damn thing ever. The only problem I ever had was I could never get the jumping off enemy heads to work right.

Nice idea. Enjoyed the coin battles. Platforming sections were painful though, the controls and level design ruined them.

Damn, I gotta admit I was kinda impressed seeing two games merged into one, one being the platformer and the other being the coin arena. Honestly, nice work man! Enjoyed playing it

I'd rate 5 Stars in Audio just for the announcer.

I love that it jumped right in, got me in the mood, and *taught me how to play*! You can't ask for a better introduction than that!

The platforming is a bit lackluster, but that's okay because I was so ready to get back in the Dome! It wasn't obvious I could hit TAB to return before the timer if I feel I have everything I need already. I like having two types of gameplay - one to collect resources for the other. Hints are a nice addition, makes it more of a puzzle game that you get clues to by playing!

Had a lot of fun with this one!

Really like the mix of coin battle and platformer as well as the sound.

Especially the anouncer is super.

I found myself wanting to go back to the coin arena while platforming -- not because the platforming was bad but because I wanted to hear more of that sweet voice acting.

Cool concept! I like the mashup between the platformer and coin battle. The graphics are pleasant and the sound suits the mood of the game. I also dig the hints aspect/having to strategize which coins to play and when. Props for the tutorial as well! I'd like if you can leave the coin fields rather than having to wait out the time because I killed an enemy and couldn't reach the last coin with a couple minutes left. Good job on this!

Brilliant entry. Cool *coincept* nyuck nyuck. Would have loved an escape hatch out of the coin collecting phase, I think I had to just sit on my thumbs for a few minutes because I already found all the hints and coins!

One of the best fighting/puzzle/platformer I've played this LD so far! :P Loved the mash-up of the genres. The coin battling felt very unique. I'd be interested in seeing where it could go mechanically, even without the platformer quest part. Just having the announcer voice probably earned you a couple of extra stars right there. Great job, and thanks for sharing!
