Cool graphics, style, music. The idea of the competition is revealed too simply. Poor balance between attack and stun. When you are beaten many times it is impossible to escape. A series of blows is useless.

One of the better entries. Audio and visuals are great. The gameplay is solid. And if you didn't die at least once while shopping items, then you haven't played this game right. Only downside I had: No fullscreen mode. Luckily I played it on Windows 10 within a VM hosted on macOS, so I could easily zoom in and enjoy this game to the fullest. Definitely recommended! (And damn, I need to hire @mateusboga for my next team :P)

Hey the game is impressive, great job! The only thing I missed is the control of the attack, because sometimes it felt kind of un/lucky if I get hit or I hit the enemy. But in general it was damn great :D

There are no sound options :/ .. other than that the visuals look beautiful, the buying for health mechanic is great and I also like that the level doesn't have an end. Good job!

Really amazing art and music! The health tradeoff mechanic, while simple, is perfect for this game and works really well with the theme. I did find using space to attack to be a bit weird, and the same goes for X, even if a bit less so. I also dislike it when these games are windowed, because I can't tell what's going on. Overall, however, well done! This game got high ratings from me! You should be proud of what you accomplished, all three of you!

Good pixel art, awesome art ! Love hack and slash game, but in this one is difficult to have priority on attack, it make progression random i think, very frustrating....otherwise that fit the theme, and music is very good ! Good job !

Solid game. I'd say the mechanic isn't that inventive, but the gameplay is really fun and it's well polished. I reckon if you made it so you can move up and down too (similar to how Golden Axe works) then it'd be even better. Then at the end of each wave you could auto move the player down so that your shopkeeper has room. Good job with this!

very nice graphics and audio.
Didn't like the fact that you can buy urself to death. Don't let people buy an item if they can't afford it and still have 1 soul left at least

The art is AMAZING. It just seems like there should be more variety to the gameplay, be it platforming/jumping, moving up and down in the map like in say final fight.

The look of the game is perfect though. Also, should probably not let the character O.D. on items, but it was pretty funny.

Excellent graphics and music in this entry, they are both very polished and well done. The gameplay is solid, although getting the timing down on when to swing in order to strike first was difficult to nail, although that might just be my lack of skill. Overall, extremely impressive. Nice work!

The graphics and music are crazy good, as you've no doubt been told and the health/currency dynamic is a perfect fit. I found the combat a little unsatisfying and cumbersome, though; I think mainly as a result of how long all the animations take to play out. It made it especially difficult when a big cluster of skeletons show up in later waves and there's very little you can do to attack them without being hit.

@mr-field Thanks for your feedback! It is part of the design to punish you for missing the enemy. Make sure you upgrade your speed+attack and not use most of your souls on the merchant :)

Great color scheme great funky rock music! This game is a good one. Attacking and not getting hit all came down to luck though. A little more polish on the combat and you got yourself an A++!

That was a lot of fun honestly. I will never truly understand why building up a number to spend at the next rest to make my abilities more powerful is so enjoyable, but it is. Great game!

The GFX are purely amazing, really fan of this pixel art style : o
Music is really nice too, especially liked the shop one

The game mechanics are pretty simple but the global mood make it work well. I loved how juicy feels the upgrade when looking at the store : D

I think this game would be more amazing if there were "short level bounds". I think the player can manage waves in a tiny space, but anyway great job. The overall game is solid to think of a post jam release, with some more combat mechanics : )

Awesome graphics and music. Gameplay's pretty repetitive though, but the slick art and animations made it fun for a good while. It'd be cool to see a full game made with this concept / character.

Graphic and music is nice. Would be nice to see a hp bar or some sort of indicator to know how much damage we are doing and how much health they have left per attack.

My favorite part was when I got an upgrade that killed me. I dunno why but I find it funny that with this theme a lot of games you can literally kill yourself by buying things.

I thought the game was fun. It was pretty simple and kinda reminded me of a rhythm game at first. I liked the music and I really liked the little shop the power ups UI looked really cool.

I see you want to add more enemies. I think that will really spice up the game b/c the 2 enemies by wave 10 I was ready for another new type of enemy. But for this jam it's pretty good.

I think maybe the parallax speeds could of been adjusted, something felt a tiny bit off but I couldn't place it. But the background looked really cool

Great game, the art and audio are incredible. I would love to see some way to counter enemies (via a roll, block, or dash of some sort), as currently the combat sometimes devolves into exchanging hits with the enemies.

I like the environment art, music and mood the most.
Combat is simple, it would be better to have more options like blocking attacks or dodging. Also, enemies could be more diverse.

But overall it's a good hack and slash game.
