From the book of POLYARNIK:
Beware of sea. Sea hides many dangers, it will make you slow and cold, and also you will need to dry your coat after swimming, which is never nice because you only have one.
Beware of ice. Ice might be your friend because you can step on it, but it is also an enemy, as its chunks float around uncharted, only waiting for a chance to bump into your ship.
Beware of your friends. Trust me, there's nothing your friends want more than putting a boot up your coat and kick you out of the ice to the sea.
But most of all, my friend, beware of penguins.
CONTROLS (keyboard/gamepad):

Very good.
<3
@cepeka, @ja-viera thank you too.
love your games!!
I don't know what to do with the drawers. :(
nice job!
Pd: The only issue is that it run a little slower in my pc and it need a up and down sprite for movement, besides that amazing game!!.
@iarzu hahah yeah, I wasted 4 hours on one animation and didn't had time/strength to do 2 more, even though vertical walk is usually easier to draw.
@hegemege sadly, UI was neglected a bit as well =( Was busy making combo events tracker instead (like kicking back a penguin that was kicked by another player, or colliding two penguins by kicking them at each other)
Don't hurt any animal! What a lovely game with a big amount of work on the pretty aesthetic. The controls are really smooth and I love the mood. You manage the theme cleverly. Maybe I could appreciate a litle background music - something ethereal. You did a funny and efficient entry. Bravo.
Thank you very much for the video in which we see you playing my project Deadlock. It was for me a real pleasure to see someone reaching the end - and in less than a half hour. I thought that it was just impossible, but you did. Bravo. Your feedback is really useful for me. Thank you ++
It seemed like fairly often the boxes would spawn in locations where you can't push them in the right direction to get to the boat. Would it be possible to control where the boxes spawn so they, for example, avoid the edges?

My only complaint is that I don't know how the score is calculated. Playing football with the penguins seems more reawarding than loading the boxes. Animals lovers gonna hate :smiling_imp:
Here is my best score :

And here is my score when I manage to load all the boxes :smile: :

Who said they're animals? they are obviously alien robots from outer space.
@historymaker118
yes, the game's not exactly optimized *looks at the code mess* yep. totally not. Chrome might be a bit better option, but decent GPU is required for comfortable play.
@yami-no-tenshi-8
Nice mention of score. It was supposed to create a balance between the need to win and getting highscore. As far as I can see from your screenshot, it worked =)
It works very well with cool feedback ^^
I scored 5134 with a loose. (10/12)
Got the idea to kick the penguins :laughing:
Played with friend
I love the use of penguins and breaking ice tiles but that might be because we used those in our game, too.
That's already a big plus in our books!
Apart from your great choice in enemy design, the balancing is done very well, the art style looks nice, overall very polished entry!
It is full of details, such as, the blocks that the penguins are planning to break (even when they are still on water) are highlighted, you can hit penguins using penguins and boxes; you can kick penguins underwater, it has a 'combo system' with some visual rewards such as: 'Nope' (when you hit some penguin on the air, just before he lands on ice) or 'Air Denial!' (When you use a penguin to hit other penguin that's just about to land on ice)... very, very polished game.
I liked the water effect, i think the reflect it's just an animation, and probably the water too... but i'm not sure.
Did you used a shader to draw the waves on the water or the reflections?
So... you did it directly for the web. Hmm... using... phaser :thinking: Cool
And... what exactly happened with the final boss?... lol
Congratulations guys!
You are right, the water is made using shader - here you may see that one (a bit fixed, but you may uncomment top #define to see original one with all its problems): https://www.shadertoy.com/view/MltcWf
All other stuff was made without shaders.
Very polished, innovative, nails the theme, good audio and just downright hilarious. It took me a second to realize what was going on though with the penguins thrashing at the ice, lol.
About the only thing I would have done different would have been, allow the guy to take damage from the freezing water perhaps, or even have that as an option for a higher difficulty. I'm really impressed though, and I"m glad out of the thousands of games submitted, I got had the pleasure of playing this gem! Great job!!
The graphics are really good
Minor issues:
- Pacing could be like 1.5x faster
- There is a technique to leave boxes on the most common edges and block penguins getting into the island
- Also scoring is kinda weird, because i'm not sure whats more important - points, or getting 12 boxes into the ship? I feel like I should keep 11/12 boxes status and score more points
It really fits the theme
Nice work!
