Lunatic Luke by fidrik
Inspired by Mad Max and Dune, an arcade style battle arena game in which you drive a buggy around an arena and destroy enemy buggys to get there resource.
I tied this to the theme through the game play and narrative
Through the gameplay there is one resource called "Juuce" that is used for everything in the game, including health, fuel, ammo, and is a drug used in powerups. So your life is your currency.
Through the narrative, which I didn't fully put in due to time, the idea is you either die in the arena or buy your way out. So people would be placing bets on the combatants and whoever wins doesnt even get to keep the money, but they keep their life.
Controls WASD - move SPACE - boost LEFT CLICK - shoot RIGHT CLICK - drug

@dvlv thanks for playing :)
@malarpuppet It does feel a bit slow to accelerate, can boost from a full stop to help you get some speed. Thanks for playing and for the feedback

So I made sure to use the boost option to prevent that in the future. I was confused with how Juuce was being used and when. I know the game tells you "it is everything" but the rate at which is is consumed vs how I get it back, especially since often the visual indications that one was collected from destroying an enemy, was hard to tell.
I know that others have mentioned this but I like to put a twist on it. It isn't so much that the game drives slow is that it feels like it takes an unfair amount of time to recover from a mistake. If I turned that wrong way or hit a wall I then have to fight just to get to the right orientation which takes me out of the experience of fighting for my life and makes it feel like I am fighting with the game. lol
Still, the idea is there, the game looks great, I do get that feeling of an arena set in the desert, and the particle effects really brings everything to life.
Thanks for playing though!
Good game. For me everything could've been a little bit faster ;)
I really want the project not to be abandoned and done only better!
Only thing was it felt a little too easy, would have been fun if the enemies could ram you.
Some of the Juuce wasn't collectable, it seemed like it was too high with no ramp to get to it.
Physics were cool, watching things fly through the air and sometimes land on me. Needs more explosions and sounds, though.
Overall, with some more speed on the cars and projectiles to make it more hectic, it would be really enjoyable.
