Obvious Alien Interactions

The juxtaposition of the chipper music and simple graphics with the seriousness of the issue presented made this a really interesting game to play...! Very well presented, and surprisingly relevant. Really goes to show that games can be used as a serious form of expression, not necessarily purely for fun or entertainment. Enjoyable gameplay, although I found myself wanting to tell everyone to go to hell, so I didn't get very far...!

One of the most interesting game I've tried this Jam so far. I will not repeat @obvious-alien-interactions's comment, but it's exactly my thoughts. It's amazing what this game can make understant in a really short amount of time.

Interesting, but I'm just thinking, how sick this town is  I like the storytelling! I love games with stories

I did ended up hating every blue guy (except that lady that heals you) So I call that success! Great mood

I really don't want to live there x)

Why people are so mean to her, I don't know, but that's so satisfaying to answer something clever and watch them lose their words 😄

There's more depth in the game than what the screenshots can suggest, I'm glad I tested it 🙂
Graphics are cool, the music helps you keep motivation to go forth while being insulted and thrown rocks, that girl is really brave 😲

On the feedbak side, I think that rocks and insults are too fast compared at the speed at which the girl can protect, but that's a small thing to change.

Anyway good job !

I loved the general vibe and how immersive it was. Controls were a little weird, you choose those for keyboard layout reasons? Please checkout my submission as well!

Game looks really good! It becomes a bit too easy when you understand that every enemy type has only one type of attack, but other than that, good job!

Great concept, great art and music, all around really good job on this. The kind of whimsical tone of the art/music juxtaposes really well with how dark the game is, and the animations are a fantastic touch (Eliza hiding under her books or covering her ears is heartbreaking). This game evoked a genuine emotional response from me, which is honestly not very common in jam games. In terms of constructive criticism, I agree with others that the patterns get kind of easy to predict, but I think the game makes its point very well despite that.

I think all the answers are too polite given how these bastards insult here. Nice game!

Interesting idea. The way I played, Eliza fired back insults at everyone who was rude, but was chill with everyone else. I liked how that response worked occasionally, but it also got me a lot of insults hurled in my face. By the end, I was playing really defensively, and immediately shielding my ears after every interaction. It was kinda funny, but also pretty sad that this had become Eliza's automatic response to the world. It felt really good when I occasionally ran into nice people who said encouraging things (or at least neutral things).

I also loved the art style and the music. The color picker thing at the start didn't seem to do anything, though.

Wow. This is the first jam game I've seen that's actually made me feel connected to the character. It's really impressive that you pulled off something meaningful like this over a weekend.

As everyone else has said, the contrast of the nice music, bright colors, and elementary school kids compared to the insults and animations worked incredibly well.

Well that tooked me very much. :O
The bow down of the character reminds me a bit of a japanese school girl.
But doese it have an effect?
The best thing for me in the game was to get a heart from a friend. Was a really emotional gesture.
And I think the color pick up at the start was a good idea too. Because it shows you the seperation from you with the others.
I tried to give me the same color as the other people but nothing changed. xD

Very nice message to deliver to the industry. (But seriously there is racism in elementary schools these days?? That's scary..). I personally would appreciate some more action to bring up the pace, and also more varieties to randomize the pattern.
Great work!

Loved how the music was set against the tone. Nice visuals, strong idea. Well made.
