Paper, Cork and Bugs by IAmWave

:bug: :spider: :butterfly: :eye: :raised_hand: :runner:

You don't like bugs. Get rid of the bugs to move on to the next level.

If you get hit, you either lose an eye, an arm, or a leg. This sucks: you will see less, shoot slower or move slower. The bugs may drop eyes, arms, and legs, but these don't help you directly, but are for your offspring. When you complete the level, you can either continue, or retire and let your offspring take over - it will use the limbs and eyes you collected earlier.

WASD to move, arrow keys to shoot. How far can you get? splash1.png

Hi! Nice game! First I didn't understand, how to continue. But after I found that I just need to press enter :)
I died on 5 level with 1 leg and eye left :))) I really like it

Enjoyed the idea of having the decision to risk it with a continue vs spawning a new offspring. Definitely fun to have a 1 arm, 1 leg, 1 eyed fatty try to get through any level

Wish I had got a little farther (lost at level 16 with arms and legs to spare) to see what other enemies you guys added to the game.

Overall the game had a nice bit of variety and a cool base idea for the theme

Well done!

fun idea, pretty challenging when you lose eyes though

Lovely style you've used here!

The basic seeker AI is a bit dumb, but in a charming way. Later enemies add a nice variety, and overall it all feels well executed. I would have loved a bit of audio, but recognize often doesn't allow for such things.

Overall great entry. If I had to complain, it takes a while before it's beneficial to pass down to your offspring, as limb collection is fairly slow (especially early game).

Looks great, very charming.
Like the 'legacy' style mechanics to let you build the best bug you can!
Good work!

Innovative entry with the offspring vs. continue as-is mechanic. Wish there was audio to help with the mood. Definitely fun for the time I put into it. Well done!

I really enjoyed playing your game. It reminds the one we did for this game jam :)
Nice graphics, simple concept, but it works ! I was completely afraid by the spiders at level ~ 5..

Love the graphics style, the variety of enemies and the clever take on the theme. Some sounds would have improved the mood, though.
One "bug" that detracted from the experience was that in my browser (Firefox, / Linux) using the arrow keys to control the web player also scrolls the web page up and down, meaning that not all the game was visible all the time.

Fun game, got to level 24 then accidentally reincarnated into an offspring that wasn't quite ready yet :) One annoyance was that the web page kept scrolling when using arrow keys.

Cool game!, A suggestion of my part is when a new level starts, first check if player is on top of rock and destroy it, because it happens that the player jumps when is on top of rock. Overall, Nicely done!
