I like the concept but I found it difficult to keep the controls straight. A little bit of attention to the control scheme and you'll have a decently fun puzzle game.

The music was incredible and the simple colouring but clear art was easy to keep track of when solving puzzles. The concept is simple and easy to learn, but the control scheme is a bit finicky. I would have preferred that, when transfusing, the two animals morph into one, and then they can split apart later, rather than having to pick the other body up, carry it across, put it down, and transfuse back. Puzzles have a good difficulty curve, but they all have a pretty logical sequence of moves. Overall, an decent and enjoyable game.

@zanyg Thanks so much! I've never done art for a game, so I'm glad it worked out! I decided to make bodies exist because it allows for more puzzle potential in the later levels. But I can definitely see how that could cost a more a simple control scheme.

@wubbaduck Thanks! It might've not been the best idea to make a two button game with four controls, so I can definitely see that.

Awesome game! I liked the style, audio and graphics~ The puzzles were quite fun to solve, but I also thought the controls a bit difficult to handle at first, but later I got used to them. Great work!

As others have mentioned, the controls took a little getting used to, and it was kind of hard to keep track of what a combined creature would turn back into when you split up again (if you were using a different body than the one you used to transfuse), but otherwise I was really impressed at what you were able to put together in 48 hours. The mechanics were simple but had plenty of depth, which was used to great effect as the levels went on, and the overall presentation was delightful. Great job!

I appreciate the kind words @dan-thompson! I actually considered making 3 extra sprites to make it obvious which was the original creature. So for instance, a bird+fish that was originally a fish would be a fish with wings, rather than a bird with a fin. Just not something that made it in time.

A confusing but also pretty fun little puzzle game. Love the music and graphics. This is overall a good Compo game. Well done.

pretty good puzzle with quite unclear rules about who combines with who in what way, so it was more challenging to find out how the game works and then remember it than solving the actual puzzles. But some UX tweakes and you got great game right there, good job!
