It's amazing you were able to develop this, it's really, really nice!
Why don't you try mine and rate it, too? Thanks! https://luxgile.itch.io/shooting-mama

Really like graphics direction in your game! And overall this is a fine basement for a survivial game. Also you dont usually see that level of ui polish in jam games, somehow you managed to make it look quite decent. Also nice idea doing quiz while sleeping, although it was easy to spam through to get full energy :)

Overall great submission, you definitely got some skills

Survival and Farming Sim... Great idea, though it played out more like Don't Starve. That's not a bad thing! Also, your low-poly graphics are to die for. Great game, rated!

Very nice graphics environment ! This cute and simple style fits well with the farming idea :)

Interesting game and great looking graphics!

I wanna point out a few things:

- The rest mechanic is interesting! Probably you want to punish the player a bit (just a little bit) when the player answers the wrong question. At least, give it a delay to answer the next question if the player answered wrong previously. Without that I could just spam the first answer and not paying attention to the questions and answers at all.
- I also noticed the first answer is always highlighted. I thought the game gave me a few correct answers for the first few questions (A bit of pointer/tutorial).
- The player moves faster when moving diagonally (please correct me if I'm wrong)

Other than that, the game's great!

Keep up the good work

It's a lot of content! The instruction was a little unclear first but once it's figured out it's simple enough. The gameplay was kinda hard to me.

Quite elaborate, and well done graphics. I think the time goes by a bit too fast (resource bars and day/night cycle) and the sleeping quiz is a nice addition. Now we all know Jericho is the first walled city

I wish there was an offline version though, it's pretty lame to not be able to play it in fullscreen.

Congratulation on this entry! It's really a solid game.

The positives:

* very good graphics
* good music supporting the athmosphere
* easy to pick-up and play

The less positives:

* If I would change something is the use of 'v' to use a tool. It's in the middle of the keyboard for me and a bit out of reach of any hand. Maybe right click?
* Is there an ability to remove an miss placed wall? I didn't manage
* The hunger netter goes down a bit too fast when sleeping. I didn't understand at first that I had to click R again to wake up and end up dying twice.

Overall a very cool game!

Nice job ! I didn't get far and got killed a lot by boars and sleep hunger, but the inclusion of culture quiz was a nice touch.

Bravo !

Wow, these graphics ! It looks like the game ended when a red cube appeared as I was about to harvest... Or did I miss something ? A very nice experience overall.

@Elmeri There are no quests after that, but you can continue playing and farming. I should have added a quest in the end about actually raising a crop, but ran out of time.

This is very good. Couple things for improvement. The ground should be seamless. It would improve the look of the game, but then you'd have to worry about informing the player where the plot is for planting and building. I was surprised to see building in the first place, but you can always expand on that as well. The UI is good, but when you equip a tool, you should hold something in your hand.

Other than that, most of the built in mechanic worked perfectly. However, when I built from grass to sand, the wall dropped to a different height. That should be addressed on a later patch. Good sound, overall, I'd say your submission should do quite well in the rankings. Good job!

This is really impressive for a LDJ game! The only thing I would add to the above comments is that it'd be nice to have a safe area in the beginning to play around with farming, crafting, building etc.

Overall, feels like a very complete and well-executed game. Congrats!

Super solid game. Doesn't feel like a ldjam game with all the polishing you've done. Also, are you using procedural generation for the map? If so I love it. Have you listed your resources anywhere? What tools do you use etc.

This was especially fun to play as an Anthropology student XD

@ZuhairGhias Thank you! That's nice to hear :)

Yes, the map is generated with Perlin noise. Each value is translated to a tile type and then it generates the foliage like the bushes and the rocks. The forests are generated by selecting a random grass tile and then adding a random number of trees to each grass tile within a certain radius.

We used just Unity, no extra assets except Post Processing Stack for the post processing effects.

Cool game ! I have to say, the presentation is very clean, the graphics are nice and the controls are easy to understand. There's a lot to see in this game and the mix between survival and farming ( and quizz game ?) is an interesting take on the theme. Too bad I died too quickly because I was busy running in the field and collecting stones. I'm really not good at surviving...

I was unable play this without control issues. This appears to be a Unity thing for at least 70% of Unity games. It first detects my steering wheel pedals as input when I want to just use keyboard, this requires me to press down half way on one of the pedals to "null out" the input on that axis.

Even unplugged, I was still having controller issues. The character always wanted to walk down. I managed to collect a few things and see inventory, but the controller issues made it unplayable so I did not rate. :(

My crops didn't grow well for some reason. And I got stuck in walls once. Love the questions, now I know more!

@icxon Oh wow, thanks a lot for the playthrough! I think that might be the first time anyone has done that for us, it makes us really happy to know you actually tried to survive for over 20 minutes! ;) Too bad there's no speech commentary, but this is still really delightful to watch.

Sadly your crops didn't crow because you got stuck in the Day 1 -bug, so that's a mistake on our end, not yours... Arzi said that he'll try to fix it now! :)

nice animations, the character animations look very nice. I didn't know what to do in the game, but otherwise looks great. Took some time to figure out that "Space" key will do something...

@tero-pulkkinen Kiitos kiitos, uskoin että lowpoly-tyylillä olisi päässyt tosi helpolla mutta tosiasiassa suuren osan viikonlopun devausajasta grafiikan puolesta vei olentojen skinnaus, riggaus ja animaatiot... päähahmolla oli esimerkiksi idle, juoksu, nukkumisen aloittaminen, nukkuminen, lyönti, esineen nosto, vahingon otto, kuoleman alku ja kuolema -animaatiot. Ja samaa tavaraa tuolla villisialla myös. Olihan ne animaatiot tosi yksinkertaisia, mutta silti! :)

Liked the art but felt like there was way too much going on and took me a while to get a hang of things. I like the questions when you sleep and mixing the survival game with a quiz game. Good job!

Incredible graphics. Deep crafting and inventory system for a game jam. The web version is a bit laggy for me and the game is a little hard. Overall very good job. Looking forward to seeing more games from you.

The questions while resting were a really nice touch! Though as others have mentioned I found it easy to just spam the first question to regenerate my health and energy then just eat some berries. I really liked the graphic style this had. Overall I think this was a great entry, nice work!
