I had fun with this one! It was really satisfying watching all of the little creatures hoping around, although it did feel at times like there wasn't much I could do to prevent their deaths (I did like how chaotic it got).

I was a fan of the music but I think some sound effects would have made the audio situation feel more full.

Overall I think this game plays and looks really nice and fits the theme well. Well done!

Wow, this game is pretty!!! Really neat concept and well implemented. Found it a bit weird to jump sometimes. Good job!

Another Spacenanny <3 <3 <3
This game is fantastic! Your beautifully drawn story-comics alone already killed it for me. The graphics are amazing and the music engaging. I really enjoyed the playthrough! The only improvment I can think of would be some smooth music for the comic scenes and cute sounds for these adorable aliens. Very good job guys!!

The art is marvelous, I must admit I was quite surprised when the start-screen came in and there was a tiny comic embedded..

Indeed like a previous person said, it often felt like it was difficult to prevent the death of the tiny blobs following you, but impressive!

One of my favorite entries so far <3 This was so much fun, I love the art style, the game play, 'em tiny spoopy alien teeth, pretty much everything about it - I sure hope you guys get to eventually make this into a steam game, or something. Following on itchio too, now :)

This one is great!!! I love the artwork and level design. Interacting with them is a little tricky, but I love running around with them following close behind. Very cute & fun!

I love the opening sequence-- those can be boring sometimes but this one was great. The game controls great and is a good challenge. I was worried when I lost all of my pets but relieved when they came back on the next level. It fits the theme well! Great work!

Controls could be tighter, but overall, I enjoyed this quite a bit. As others have said, reminds me of Pikmin quite a bit. Cheers!

This is fun. The control is good and the art like the tile and the background look great. Although I cannot reach the final level until now(hahaha), it is challenging. So I think it implicate the good level design or my bad skill(maybe both are true haha). Nice game!

PS. But I don't know whether it is the feature of the game or my browser problem? I would confront the situation that the movement of the game sometimes became laggy (I have plenty of oxygen at that time)

I liked the art very much, but I felt a little lack of sound effects. Overall, I liked the concept, and felt the game a bit chaotic at times. Congratulations for the game.

Gostei muito da arte, mas senti um pouco de falta dos efeitos sonoros. No geral, gostei do conceito, e senti o jogo meio caótico em alguns momentos. Parabéns pelo jogo. :flag_br:

Had a lot of fun with this one. So much right, and because there's so much there, hard to say what I'd change, although I see a lot of good feedback already in the other comments that I agree with. :)

Have a great LD!

Wow this is really good, nice to see another game with minions you can throw to their death >:D Nice art, and the AI on the creatures is really good given the timespan of LD!

The AI of your minions is great and evilish. :D It's really funny to see how they interact with the world. But they also steal your Oxigen. :o
But at some point I couldn't figure out what I have to do.
![e3re.png](///raw/e3f/z/e363.png)
Have I jump on some of the minions when they steal the oxigen? I bet something I have overlooked . :/

@norrimo, it's a classic platformer arc jump, take a look:

![slowmo.gif](///raw/2e1/z/e376.gif)

Just don't release 'up' key when you're performing it. I do remember that your GREED game has a couple of tricky jumps as well. :smile: Thank you for the feedback.

Yeah it has. Platformer are really hard. Because of that I tried in this LD a 3D game. xD

Those creatures are both so cute and annoying that I want to hug and squish them at the same time. I never expected that interpretation of the theme; this is very innovative. The art is truly great, especially the background and the comic strip. The character felt a little hard to control for me (not sure if it is intentional) but I got more used to it as I played. This is really a great game.

Pretty neat little puzzle platformer ya got here

Pros:
- I was engaged with the world (it was pretty and I liked exploring it)
- The art and story stuff in the beginning was a nice touch
- Good fundamentals of level design
- Cute friendlies. I felt bad for killing them so much.

Cons:
- I found many puzzles were able to be solved without my little guys
- I feel like the more I have the better it is, actually (people have said the same about my game though so don't feel bad)

Nice work!

Great graphics, I'm pretty impressed you managed to put original music into the game. Congratulations on the great work! Loved how the little aliens hijacked the oxygen cans.

I didn't understand why you put some of the powerups just right next to the exit, though.

Really good game. Really nice graphics and audio. It's a little bit weird because I feel like scene 3 is the hardest. I finished the whole game. My suggestion would be to make the game even harder.

Great art and flow. In the air, the character had a bit too big inertia for my taste. The concept of the creatures was a bit flexed out only in the first few levels, then I could finish the levels while ignoring the critters.

Also, only after finishing the game, I read that I can interact with stuff myself or throw the creatures. So I guess I finished it on a hard mode?

Such cute and polished art! I like the creature animations alot too. I think the base gameplay of throwing the creatures to interact is clever - but it was also really easy to kill them, especially in areas with open pits, so I found myself empty handed in some of the levels. I also had trouble aiming them sometimes, maybe if they had a slight homing force towards interactables? Some sound effects would also make a big difference. Awesome game!

Cute graphics and liked the intro. I really had a hard time figuring out how the mechanics worked... the responsiveness felt off and I missed a lot of jumps because of it. I really like how you interpreted the theme where the critters will trigger stuff sometimes before you're ready.

So beautiful and lovely.Great platformer that I'd like to play. Just one thing, that I guess the minion aliens can interact with the environment? But I even didn't used them.

Checked this game because the post earlier on. Looked at the art, and thought I'd take it for a spin. It's actually far better than what I had in mind it'd be, with the cutesy critter horde roaming around and being as useful as they could be, while wrecking some stuff or just blatantly dying more often than not.

The game was great, and the platforming with simple puzzles were also a treat. I'm impressed at how responsive it all was. Cleverly designed and executed. Some of the jumps did feel a bit odd here and there, but for the most part, playing through the game was a fun time.

All in all, a fantastic jam entry. The comic and introduction added a lot of personality to it. [In behalf of my team](twitter.com/whalesandgames), congratulations on making such a great game. Cheers! :whale:

Nice platformer! Really nice graphics and audio. Level design is also cool and I like the idea of the game. For me I think the control/character was a bit too "slippery". And I didn't quite get how the LD40-theme fitted the game. But all-in-all a really nice game! Impressive you could make it so polished in such a short time! /Greetings from a fellow Phaser-dev! =)

Awesome game! The little aliens are very cute and the art overall is very nice. The levels have an enjoyable difficulty (although the one after which I quit had some really nasty jumps where you had to jump outwards and then change direction while in air, which were quite tricky).

Cute game, impressive to get the AI working for all those critters so quickly. The controls were a bit tough for me, it would have been nice to be able to click to throw your little guys or something. Nice work!

@machocodes,
Your Daku game is good-looking too. Thanks!

@emil-sunesson,
Thanks, man! Actually these are 'Arcade' physics, which is a bit painful and requires a lot of tweaking.

@bodom4ever,
Glad you liked it :smile: We assumed some players will try to save all the creatures, originally this was not intended as a game goal, but it's doable. The game does not reward for this though. Didn't have time for sounds, planning for post-LD.

@jordy-adan,
Well... we have hats too, haha. This is our first LD platformer ever and character control is more difficult to make/polish than we thought.

@beebo-studios,
Thank you! You would be surprised but we have music for the comic part, the only thing -- it wasn't pushed into repository. We found this right after the submission hour. Here is the track - https://www.audiotool.com/track/xeno-menu/

@girts-kesteris,
We should have use the same approach for sounds creation as Get to the CHOPPA! :smile: Impressive technique.

@tobiasnl,
Bedankt! Ironically @a333 had some fps issues with Crimson Recon as well. Both games are smooth for me. Don't you mind to share your CPU props?

@renato-felix-martins,
Kudos to @a333. We love your bugs too =)

@profan,
Comic works really great for introduction and story/plot parts. And also it's very time-consuming. Glad you liked it.

@sayomgwtf, @michael-silverman,
I appreciate you both had time to take a look at our game. We are working on Protolife now to make it a full game, your words are motivating :smiley: Looking forward to see Matchy Star release as well.

@inkystache, @adsilcott,
Thank you, ~~gentlemen~~ Melanie and Adam. You haven't seen the debug level -- the greatest masterpiece of leveldesign :smiley:

@hiken,
I still hate those spiders (dark ones). Thanks!

@hippunk, @sidewalksleeper, @camcam-s5,
Believe you or not -- We've never heard about Pikmin before you mention it. GameCube was not that popular in our country. But as I can see from trailers -- this game is just brilliant, no wonder since it's made by Nintendo. And they added multiple types of creatures which brings a lot of gameplay variativity. I definitely should try it.

@al19890604,
You should eat more pizza to beat the game on time, if you know what i mean =) Lags are bad, probably it's due to pathfinding (A* on a graph). What type of CPU do you have? Thank you for the feedback.
