1. The character keeps moving after you let go of the forward button for a few steps
2. The mouse pointer isn't hidden, it's stuck on the centre spot
3. There is no dead bodies to harvest, I must have gone around the map multiple times
4. Despite having ammo, I couldn't attack the werewolf (the only one) and there was no tutorial on how to attack.
5. The atmosphere would really benefit from some highly reverbed footsteps, maybe some heavy breathing (to instil a bit of panic) and some atmospheric music to build the tension.
So yeah, could be good, but the fundamental parts of your game are missing, it would be nice to see this once you have them implemented! Good work!
Despite the instructions, on my first playthrough it wasn't obvious to me how to collect the blood. I pressed e to interact but nothing seemed to happen.
- The sword is overpowered compared to the arrow launcher. The reach on the sword is amazing compared to it's length.
- I managed to get into the shop somehow (not a biggy)
- In the start, the tutorial font was hard to read because of the spacing between the letters.
On the other hand the choice of lighting, colours, audio creates a sense of dread and an immersive experience.
I have a minor complaint though. I think you should make shopping area a safe zone, where you can stay and relax, without getting swarmed by wolves. But other than that I was pretty pleased with the experience.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the level design. The amount of work put into the animations, models and textures was superb. The mood was set from the start and did not disappoint, kept me on my toes. I enjoyed the variety of weapons.
**NEEDS WORK**
Audio felt half-complete. With a simple ambiance track in the background (howling wind, rain or whatever) almost feels necessary to create an eerie feeling in a game like this. There were some bugs with the weapons that required me to switch a few times.
Overall, very well done for a jam. Lighting was fantastic and the core game loop was fun.
* add a little music for the mood
* fix sfx when you want to buy ammos but you don't have gold, it has the sounds of buying something
* fix some typo (tipps)
* fix weapons management, sometimes the weapons are in hand at the same time
* be careful with randomizing audio on sword attacks, sometimes when I do an attack on nothing is the same sound that I touched enemy, so I don't know when the feedback is correct
* add more time between spawn
* make the shop corridor as a sanctuary, like that no monsters can enter
* explain why it's important to upgrade the crossbow and add a cap on it, by the way why can't we upgrade the sword?
* upscale the hitbox for the taking the blood from enemy
* add a victory condition after passed all the waves, it seems blocks to a wave with 11 enemies
* The camera moved a little to quick for me, which meant I could only play it for a bit before it started to make me feel a little sick.
* Some BG music might be nice, I do like the silence, but some subtle soundtrack would still add to the ambience
* I couldn't figure out how to collect blood initially, it seems pretty touchy
* My weapons were overlayed on top of each other, which seemed like a bug
Still, very impressive!
- A sanctuary / safe zone when buying stuff.
- Atmospheric sound or music.
- The werewolves should try to hunt you down more aggressively. I felt they only attacked me at the shop haha. When I was actually in the town it took me a bit to actually find them.
Well i personally had an uneasy feeling while playing the game and thus can say that the game was a success in terms of spookiness but as others said, the music and some footsteps would make the game feel more complete and polished.
