Planning phase complete!

I'm making an Action Shooter / Virtual Pet game. The basis is keeping your pet alive while managing its needs through shooting actions. Lob tennis balls to help it exercise, get up close to share some love, and fire food right into its mouth from afar. But this pet moves fast so you gotta keep up!

This certainly was an interesting mashup of the two genres. It took the need to actively care for your virtual pet to a new level when you have to chase them down to try caring for them. It was a bit difficult at first when they kept running away when I needed to use the love bomb, but once I realized I could bait them with the ball it made the game much more manageable. Great work!

Interesting mix of genres! Could have been fun with some change in environment after a while.

BTW, development of this game **will** continue after Ludum Dare so please look out for future releases on my [itch.io](https://blearn.itch.io/) page. There is plenty I want to add!

That was interesting! Nice result of mixing genres. It's actually hard game, I think :) I would like to see more actions in the future, and maybe some story behind it?

Interesting idea and with a bit of polish (wonky collision system, more feedback about actions, etc.) it could be cool game.

I liked the idea, but I found it a bit too hard and at the same time a bit repetitious.

Thanks everyone for the feedback so far. Unfortunately I didn't give myself enough time to balance the gameplay. That's something I'll focus on more next time.

Definitely an interesting idea. I'd love to see it with more pet mechanics, such as having multiple pets or manage or have to buy ammo/items for each type of "attack." Also needs a bit more visual polish. The text stats in the top left are very basic, and sometimes there were visual glitches when shooting certain weapons.
