Feuding Space Blobs by lkr

Feuding Space Blobs is a strategy game where you're in control of a space blob, battling it out with another blob, for fun and/or profit.

You start out with only your core (the thing with a creepy eye), but you can grow and shapeshift your blob by adding different modules to it.

The object of the game is to destroy your opponent's core. This is done by shooting it with the two offensive modules: The Gunner and Launcher. The Gunner shoots straight forward, while the Launcher shoots seeking missiles that go straight for the opponent's core.

Tips:
- You can only build adjacent to your existing modules and core.
- There's a cooldown after you build a given module before you can build the same one again. There's a visual cooldown-overlay that shows how long there's left.
- You can only build on your bottom half of the grid.

The AI is currently pretty simple, and just builds a simple pattern. The normal difficulty AI builds slightly better formations, and at a faster speed. There was only so much time I had to work on it :)

Enjoy!

P.S: You can turn off the sound and/or music using the buttons at the top.

A great idea, it's a good Tower Defense style game. It could be made a bit harder, with perhaps more than one 'core' spawning in hard mode.

Love the game. The AI is pretty exploitable though.

It was hard not to obliterate the AI, so that I could try all the modules XD. I would love to see a more elaborate version of this with modules that counter each other.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions!

If I had more time during the event, I'd definitely have added more modules and spent more time on balancing.

Pretty fun to play and outbuild your enemy. It does get hard to keep track of everything once the 'builds' start to grow larger.

Pretty interesting game, good sound effects and graphics. The ai though sometimes is stupid sometimes is smart, it's very random. Good game over all.

Nice tower-defense-strategy-style-game, the AI is not very strong, but as a compo entry, its great! Liked the music too..

Nice idea for a simple TD/strategy game. It needs a lot of balancing but it was fun as it is :D

Love the visuals! Its fun to watch your blob grow. Balancing definitely needs work, but I would love to see more of this concept! Very cool take on the theme.
