Blood Cult Sim is a tiny little game in which you are the leader of a cult and trying to wake youre elder god by sacrificing innocent villagers. For each sacrifice your cult earns "Blood Points" which can be spent on better traits for your cultists. Can you gain enough "BP" to literaly meet your make, or will the police hunt you down?

You can only inactively take influence over your minions by changing their prioritys of hiding, converting or sacrificing and where they should or should not go...

Only the mouse is needed to play this game.

It's my fifth Ludum Dare, the third published game and the first one I worked on completely alone (@gaschrom-music-person (usually my partner) made the music though).

Have fun!

I like the premise of the game, does give a bit of a management feeling. A tutorial would have definitely been useful but as you mentioned you didn't have time for it, so that is fine. I like the art style of the game and honestly dont have much negative to say about it, its a nice little sim type game.

Cult Sim is a great concept.
I think you've captured it very well here.
The audio and gfx fit the mood very well.
The game is actually pretty straightforward imo even w/o a tutorial.

Great work.

Enjoyed the idea and the mood! I couldn't quite understand the relation between my choices and what was going on in the game - it felt like my choices didn't really affect anything - I eventually just made random choices (basically choosing "make the cult grow" if I had few cultists and "sacrifices must be made" if I had a lot of cultists) and managed to complete the game (I did play on easy though).

Anyway, I do think the idea has potential and could definitely be expanded! I liked the animations that are going on in the city while you're playing.

Nice entry ! I had no idea what my choices were doing at the beginning, but the game is pretty self-explaining.
I liked the audio, it was simple but efficient.

Despite being clueless during the few moments of the game, I appreciate the audio and art direction alongside the overall mood of the game. Great job!

The game really was great! Also it's nice to see another gamemaker 1.4 user here.

I love the narration (did I hear Lipschitz !? xD) and the easy to understand controls and gameplay. It wasn't to easy nor to challanging and after playing (only died in the last level but several times) I got your source code which is also quite impressive (for me at least).

Also made a "Texture Pack" for myself![Screenshot 2018-12-17 00.37.59.png](///raw/349/9/z/1fb34.png)

That all said - great entry!

Nice concept, but I felt like the little control I had over the cultists behaviour was not enough, and even on easy I ended up losing all my little robed fellows to the city. I found that even on "Stay Away", they tend to go there anyway and get caught.

The game itself is pretty clear after a little bit of gameplay, it just needs more options IMO.
