LDCOMP41 - The National Rhythm League by pinkemma
The National Rhythm League is a rhythm game joined with a sports game.
In the planning phase drag the blue dots around to make the path the playerwill take.
Press SPACE to enter play phase. On the blue beat(bottom) press the letter over the players head to make them move along the path.
Hold SHIFT + player letter to pass the ball to that player.
You have 5 DOWNS (attempts) to make it to the red zone on the other side.
Run (or pass) the ball into the red zone to score. You will be reset to 10th yard and 5 downs to go again. Each red zone score grants 100 points. Each yard (if not scoring) gives 1 point.
The Editor will let you change the soundtrack. The hightlight beats are always 4 apart, regardless of the music track.
Yes, the beat detection is hard.

Leave a comment if you've made a rhythm based game and I will try it!
Feel free to leave high scores in comments!
The Windows version does not require Java installed (unzip and run exe). Windows people WITH java installed can download the linux/mac version as well.

A tutorial mode with really slow defenders and game over at BEATDOWN was planned, but I was too tired to work on it (oh hey, look, spaghetti code!)
Great entry, keep coding :)
It's a pretty fun game with the planning phase and then actually executing the plan, but walking in a straight line got me to the end pretty easily.
Overall a good effort! With some balancing and polish this could definitely become something! (:
